Good ol Queen Mary’s!
I actually worked in the Finance Department at Queen Mary's Sidcup NHS Trust for the best part of 3.5 years when I done my CIMA Accountancy Training back in the late 90s after Uni (of Greenwich at Avery Hill!)

I'm living in Petts Wood now, just around the corner (after spending the majority of my early years between Welling & Bexleyheath!)

After Sidcup, I spent my younger years in Bickley, just down the road from Petts Wood and my Grandparents lived in Chislehurst.
There used to be a great little toy shop in Petts Wood where I'd get my Star Wars and Action Force figures from.

Jesus, that was like 40 years ago and just the mention has brought some great childhood memories flooding back!

Lovely part of the world is Bickley, my bro got married at The Manor at Bickley.

My wife’s grandparents used to live in Chislehurst, Old Perry Street.

I was born and raised (till 7 years old) in Portugal and then moved to Sidcup. Spent the rest of my 33 years here apart from a year stint in the Middle East.

I think we need a poll to decide what this thread is for:

A.) Sidcup reminiscing
B.) xG
Yeah, forgive me for being one of the main culprits of dragging the thread off topic, it's just the mention of the places took me back to happier times.
We moved away from the area about a year after my dad died and he died a month before my 10th birthday.
We lost my Granny the year before and my Grandad a year after so although the memories are bittersweet, it brings back a lot of lovely memories for me so I'll admit to selfishly indulging myself a little.
The memories are a golden time for me, my life before it fell apart and they're rapidly fading away as I get older. This triggered a few and I got carried away with them. ❤️

Even before these incredible reasons I had no issue with it - was just being silly. Sorry if it came across as snide.

I enjoy things going off topic when it's quiet otherwise.

Mate, I didn't take it as being snide in any way whatsoever.
I was just over-sharing! 🤣

What are they saying today over on RAWK? Have a read below. Some quite nervous/respectful posts IMO.

Both will start, but you'd think both might not be able to last 90 minutes. I'm expecting a really tough and open game, really think it could go either way (such a cliche).

Think a large part of this will depend on how we start. I feel we have the better squad now to last with the intensity and changes. Son always scores against us and I can't see us keeping a clean sheet!

Win here would be a huge statement. As others have pointed they have looked pretty good but are very much as work in progress and transitioning post Harry Kane

Player for player we are of course better, and if we turn up again we’ll win… probably 3-1

All about the midfield and keeping it compact. Cant afford to get stretched, they’ve got some killer pace up front. Just win the midfield battle like we do and slowly squeeze the life out of the game.

think their stand out players so far are bissouma, maddison and son? am i right?

son's a quality player that always give our defenders or any a tough time.

lets keep things tight at the back and not concede soft goals and just tire them out later on in the game. our 2nd half game management and subs seems to be on point lately. not so much in the first half where we are slow starters.

barring any injuries, it should be the usual 11

with gakpo, jota, ryan, doak, elliot as back up should the need arise

Do Spurs play a high line? Van der Ven is pretty nippy, but you would think our forwards will get in behind, especially Nunez.

Could be a weird game this, not quite sure what to expect except for goals

Given the form they are in and it being away from home I wouldn't be upset with a draw...a loss is not the end of the world but would be a bit of a punch to the gut given our recent record against them and the fact we have a team more than capable of beating them.

Can see it being a bit of a hectic game, they usually sit and counter vs us and the likes of city and not sure if this approach will change under this manager as havent really seen them this year.
Hope they come on to us more as we have the right kind of players to hurt them on the break...

3-1 reds

I agree that this will be our toughest test and for me we need to keep Son quiet.

We have a very strong squad and our bench will be key. We’ll be able to keep the tempo and pressure up for the full 90 minutes.

It’s going to be a tough match but we should win if all our players play well.

Seems strange reading some of them talking down their chances. Historically, Liverpool are the one side that we always struggle against even when we shouldn't.

Them being nervous is making me nervous tbh. This is the part about caring again I don't enjoy. But a pretty fair assesment by them tbf. On RAWK of all places.

Also, fuck Sidcup.

Arsenal fans were doing the same last week. Our team is so underrated these days.

Everyone just says Maddison, Bissouma, Son.

I suppose it's because a lot of our players are new but Romero, Kulusevski and Bentancur (amongst others) are so underrated by opposition fans. Romero especially surprises me most.

If you put the performances of Vicario at United, or Udogie at Liverpool the media would be going OTT about how good they are, for some reason our players are just not getting the recognition they deserve.
