conversely, Everton are only shit because all their players and their manager are shit. if they weren't quite so shit, Everton might not be quite so shit.

I dont know why they just havent bought their own Son/Maddison/Salah/Haaland. its quite simple isnt it ?

This basically means United players will take their foot off the pedal when playing us. Even though they ain’t very good, but it also means they will up their game to help us to the title when they play against pool and arsenal, so as they say every little helps.
this absolutely happened in reverse against us when everyone else wanted Leicester to win the league.

Some of this Leicester stuff sounds suspiciously like the nonsense other fans go on about us this season. Making up some conspiracy because we didn't win it. They won the title fair and square.

They did, but there was no doubt in the last few months we were asked to play after them consistently and other teams and managers said they'd like them to win it before their team played them and gave them almost walkover games.

"You're good only because Son and Madders are good" is the most braindead thing I've ever seen. Any team is only good as their players are good. Are we forbidden to have good players? Also, we had this narrative for a good 2 or 3 years recently with Kane. Now he's gone, turns out Sonny was the "problem"?!
It's just ridiculous. Take Salah out of Liverpool and what do they have? Take Rodri or de Brutne out of City, they're in trouble. It's a totally redundant and low IQ perspective

Playing after a team doesn't matter. It can actually also be seen as pressure to get the result when you play first. At the end of the day each team players one another home and away so that argument is redundant.

As for teams letting them walk through them. Sorry but that's just seeing what you want to see. Similar to these scousers saying about our game with them being corrupt. It's total nonsense. Managers saying they would like them to win the title doesn't mean they wanted to lay down. It sounds like hearing those comments then put the idea in your head when they played so you see them letting Leicester win.

Every team will put their own interests first. Naturally at the end of a season you will get some teams who have nothing to play for. That doesn't happen 3 months out though. That's more the final month. We were chasing them for a long time and we couldn't catch them and ended up 3rd. There are no excuses. There was no conspiracy to make them win the league.

I never said there was a conspiracy. It was more them riding a wave of good feeling. I don't care what you say, there were some teams who lay down and gave them the easiest possible games. In the end, it was just a culmination of circumstances and ultimately we weren't good enough. If we'd been mature enough to hold on to the lead against 10-men Arsenal or beat a terrible West Ham team then things may have been more interesting.

I'm sure Eden Hazard came out on MNF or something and said he wanted them to win it and that was before we played them at the Bridge. Whether they had played Leicester by then I have no idea. But it's not a stretch to think at least Chelsea weren't professional end of that season. Even after the draw at Chelsea which gave Leicester the title, he said stopping us winning it felt like a victory.

Fabregas said something very similar so don't know if it was him or in addition to Hazard. And ( I may be wrong) Chelsea still had to play Leicester so....

Ah it was Cesc on MNF and Hazard's post match after. Got them mixed up.

EDIT:
Speaking in the build-up to the Battle of the Bridge, Eden Hazard admitted: “The fans, the club, the players - we don’t want Tottenham to win the Premier League.” When that prospect was put to Cesc Fabregas – formerly Arsenal’s captain but now a key player for Chelsea - during an appearance on Monday Night Football earlier in the season, he simply said: “I don’t want Spurs to win it.”

But regardless of the financial cost, it was mission accomplished for Chelsea. The likes of Hazard and Fabregas had made it clear before the game that stopping Spurs from winning the Premier League was their biggest aim for the remainder of the season, and they did it in remarkable fashion.

It was the Swansea game for Leicester that I always remember. Their manager also said something like 'i've got tears in my eyes thinking of my friend winning the title'

yeah, played well for 9 mins before going a goal down finally losing 0-4. Complete roll over from them

Yes, i'm still annoyed about it

The reason I said conspiracy is because that's what your comments are like. There's no proof of teams laying down for them so it's just conspiracy talk and saying it like it's a fact doesn't make it true.

Rival club player says he doesn't want one of their fierce rivals to win the title. Shocker.

The point is and was that Leicester still had to play Chelsea on the last day. I'm 100% convinced Chelsea would have downed tools for that game if winning it meant we could win the league. If they didn't need to play each other still then the comment is irrelevant.

Chelsea definitely had both us and Leicester still to play when Fabregas said he didn't want us to win it, which is why it raised so many eyebrows with us. We thought it was dodgy as hell at the time but of course fans of every other team under the sun lapped it up and laughed off any suggestions that Chelsea might for example let Leicester win.

I've watched football for over 30 years now and can tell when teams are fully committed or have their flip-flops on. Anyway it's all moot. It was just our luck to find ourselves in that situation.
