What about now? Just smashed the no. 3 team in the country on their patch.

FSU will lose its customary game to an unranked team. Unfortunately, that could be Florida. This season has been an unmitigated disaster for the Gators. I dont usually like to use injuries as an excuse, and funnily enough, the unit of the team that has let us down the most is one of the healthiest (O-Line).

Now that Florida State are ranked 2 is it likely that they'll go to the BCS Championship if they win out or will Oregon's tough games against Stanford and UCLA give them the opportunity to move into 2nd?

It depends on Oregon's opponents. All the polls decided by voters has Oregon at no. 2. At the moment the only thing keeping Florida State above Oregon in the BCS is the computers and if I remember correctly they go by strength of schedule. If UCLA, Stanford and Oregon State are all ranked when they lose to Oregon and Oregon then beats Arizona State for the Pac 12 championship then they'll be in the national championship game as they would have defeated five different ranked teams to Florida State's four.

I hate all this computer stuff - surely something as massive as college football can be based on a better principal than the rules of conkers?! Glad play-offs are being introduced.

Hate to be the one always asking questions in this thread but my knowledge is poor! Now that Florida State are ranked 2 is it likely that they'll go to the BCS Championship if they win out or will Oregon's tough games against Stanford and UCLA give them the opportunity to move into 2nd?

Have to say I am a little surprised FSU jumped the Oregon to number 2 in the BCS rankings but looking at the computer rankings FSU rank 1st whereas the Oregon rank 4th which makes up a 3rd of the BCS ranking position.

In theory if FSU win out to the end of the season which includes a rivalry game against #7 Miami (FL) I could see them go to the championship game but as LSU Yiddo says it will all come down to where the Ducks opponents are ranked (if at all) when they play them.

Big Longhorns fan here, used to live in Austin, so I naturally adopted them as my team. Hoping to beat TCU tomorrow. Hook 'em!

BTW, anyone going to the Croke Park Classic next August? Penn State v UCF. Just booked tickets. Looks like a mental 48 hours in Dublin!!

We've got a chance, we've won six of our last eight at Bama. Our offense can hurt them. Bama has a lot of problems with their secondary (two key safeties are out and they've been having to rotate their corners because no one other than Belue has particularly stood out). Bama's going to have to put up a rotation of inconsistent CBs against either Landry or Beckham. If they drop defenders back into coverage then we'll just run the ball (Hill currently ranks 13th in rushing yards).

But it's going to come down to our defense. If our D doesn't switch off on third & long or let in stupid scores (like they did against Georgia and Ole Miss) then I think we might sneak it.

Hoping LSU can do it. That said, my interest has diminished somewhat after Oregon lost to Stanford yesterday. Really makes me appreciate being a Spurs fan and playing for the EL, Eurpean Qualification in the league, FA Cup and League Cup - so so gutting to have the entire season derailed based on one result!

I think I know what its like to be a Chelsea fan now! Supporting a team with a load of money (Nike) and acting like a **** cos we can't win the big one. The prosepct of winning one of the other bowl games feels kinda like "been there done that" even though other teams would give their right nut to play in one of those games.

If OSU ends up in the NC game, it will be an absolute travesty. They have the easiest schedule in the history of college athletics.

Wow, we sucked in that 2nd half. How they didn't read fake on that 4th and 2 I have no idea. Sorry guys, but 'Bama's going to win their third national championship in a row.

I think Baylor, one loss Pac-12 or one loss SEC team will make it ahead of OSU. Their schedule is too BS, and there have been times when it's been hard for them.

Will be interesting to see what happens to Florida State, it's looking more and more likely Jameis Winston will be charged so he will be out - all though the rest of their schedule looks pretty easy.

Fantastic comeback and great to see Bama lose in the most epic way. Roll tears roll.

Saban should've attempted that 35 yard FG on 4th&1. That was surely the moment of redemption for the Alabama kicker right there. Saban OutSaban'd himself.

Chris Davis, the Auburn player who returned that missed FG tweeted this last year:
