Petrov in - good deal
Ferdinand in (loan/perm) - pretty good deal and needed.

Hopefully a CM: Muamba stopped Gerrard in his tracks according to the times and that would be enough for me to want him as back-up to Palacios, but I doubt it.
Brown would be a back-up signing, but may shine in the Prem who knows until they are tried against the best really - upgrade in Zokora I think in terms of football if not athleticism.
