It would only make four Pompey players that would have come - Defoe and Crouch, speaks for itself. James is certainly an upgrade on Cudi, and Krankjar (sp), could be very useful on the LM position, all rather sensible.

We also forgot that this Pompey team did win the FA Cup, so weren't exactly rubbish, and a few of their better players would certainly mould our overall squad into something better than what it was.

In the last 34 games, we are only 4 points shy of what Arsenal have got too, thats almost breaking into the top four form... can't argue with that, surely.

I'm surprised at the reaction to James. As I understand it, the deal would be James for Cudicini + £2m. I rate Cudicini but James would be an improvement.

It seems that a lot of posters are worried that it may upset Gomes. When he is fit, it will be up to Gomes to prove he is better than the current incumbent (whether that is James or Cudicini). Nobody should be guaranteed a place in the team irrespective of form (Keane?).

Where did you get that m8? On SSN they saying a swap was rejected, there was no mention of £2m

A small bit about Petrov from Berbatoss taken from Sportal Bulgaria.

Berbatov: Tottenham is a big club from Man City, Martin Success;

The star of the national team and Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov spoke to the media after today's first training representative of our team. In addition to matches and Montenegro.He said classes are expected to pass a Martin Petrov of Manchester City to Tottenham.
"I wish to pass to Martin at Tottenham.'s Attitude in his team is not what is, to Tottenham is bigger than Manchester City and there would be scope for an expression, so at least I know from reliable sources. But let's let Martin alone. There is one more day, because with such a prolonged transfer window in England. I hope everything goes as he wishes on us because we will need for the match with Montenegro, "said Berbatov.

Jesus,is Berbs on crack?? if hes talking nonsensical blatherings like that i wouldnt even be sure he asked for a transfer to Man Utd,he probably wondered what the fuck was going on when he found himself running out at OT.

But isn't James still injured? That would leave us with two injured keepers for the Manure game?
