If we sell Bentley and use that money on a top quality CM then I'll be happy, if we sell him and bring in Petrov then I'll be fuming.

I'm sure that it will be Kranjar = KPB + JOH (loan) + 2million effectively making the deal 7 million. The proof of that?

We havent announed the KPB or JOH moves on our website!!! We always do once a deal is done.

I guess everyone is seeing the results of having Mr. Levy as chairman. I wouldnt swap him for any other chairman in the league.

Prudent , sound business principles with a clear sense of transparency and governance. What more can a modern day football club ask for.

Hahaha, what would you do, Ashley Young for circa 22m or Krancjar for 9% of that fee?

I regarded the comments about having done Madrid favours in supposedly showing interest in their players, and that greasing the way to a deal for VDV, as pure flannel. Whoever said it originally knows nothing about how the mechanics of football and deals works. Who seriously thought that Madrid would have any difficulty finding buyers willing to pay decent fees for Robben/KJH/Sneijder/VDV?

this guy claims petrov is coming to us for 3.5m:

http://www.footballfancast.com/blog...le-citys-loss-very-much-tottenhams-gain/16301

It appears that he may be going to Spurs and I heard today that the deal is all but done. I would be sorry to see him leave and believe that there is an air of unfinished business between him and City, especially after the excellent season he had under Eriksson before he got injured. I have always felt that had Petrov remained fit towards the back end of that season that perhaps Sven will have still been in the job at Eastlands as I am sure there was no coincidence that our downturn started when he was out of the side. Our loss appears to be now Spurs' gain and at £3.5m they have got themselves one hell of a snip.

What did Jasper say? That MON was completely unrealistic over the fee and we thought he was only worth 15m?

Yes, that's right Jasper, just as Harry wouldn't sell Lennon for 15m and would probably quote nearer 25m. He's not worth that but that's what you get quoted when a manager doesn't want to sell his best players, and doesn't need to.

petrov turned us down due to money before even when we had his best mate with us so i cant see him moving to us now

Strong Enquiries made about Schneiderlin from Southampton, potential to be brilliant.

Different source but there we go.

Consistent with what was in the papers and on skysports over the past couple of days, plus his international boss wants him to move

Petrov is Harry's type of player, fast, confident on the ball, always a threat. Plus, he's proven in the Prem and as he's not the kind of marquee player City seem to want, I can see it happening. Lovely to have some options on the left! I can see us bringing him in on the left if we want to play Bentley on the right (to get crosses in to Crouch).

if we can get a bargain (like we did with Kranjar) then I think we'll go for it.

schneiderlin, eh? technically skilled, a CM and 19 yo and too good for league one no doubt, but my impression is that he's lightweight and saints fans were a bit disappointed in him last season after all the hype

On 31 September 2009 media reports claimed the player was on the verge of a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur to be reunited with Harry Redknapp, who had previously coached him at Portsmouth.

So whoever has edited the page has got the month wrong

There's no point in him moving to a club that requires their acquisitions to hit the ground running. As it is, if he did come he'd go out on loan again as we don't have a team in the Reserve leagues. This is just agent talk trying to drum up a move for his kid.

I work at saints as a strength and conditioning coach and I can tell you schneiderlin is nowhere near good enough... he thinks he is the dogs balls but is slow and although good technically will never cut it in prem, very lazy trainer and has massive lifestyle issues ie eating habits are poor and he likes a drink, great lad though!!!!

Nice job mate! Well done. Out of interest, is Adam Lallana any good? We've been linked a few times.

Also, if you've worked there a while, how good was Bale in training? Better than Walcott?

Adam is fantastic, lots of ability works so hard in training and is always willing to do extra after(loves a weights session) BUT he is fragile, last year when team was struggling he went missing, his confidence is very important to his game and if he has a shocker he can be awful for months. In a good side he would be a proper proper player.
Only been there 8 months so never worked with bale, he often pops into the training ground at marchwood however, apparently at schoolboy level he wasnt great just average but had a growth spurt when he got his apprenticeship and then just took off, incredibly fit apparently
