Nice! Mr Levy, you are responsible for this process which is building another worldclass facility for this club which has the potential to be among the big boys rather than just disrupting them. All by sensible management by yourself. Thank you Mr Levy, no-one is better for Spurs at this moment.

Funny the article doesn't mention the other world first pioneered by our friends at Olympic Stadium, namely the ground-breaking use of cable-ties to stop the retractable seating from falling over every time someone farts.

I would have thought the NFL pitch would be lower to accommodate the large numbers of people on the touchline. At the height shown in the video, those in lower seats will have their view obscured.

I wonder if we can control those touch line flaps during the game...

Linesman keep giving offside? Let's see if he likes falling into a hole. :ROFLMAO:

Joking aside... I think it's a great idea. I think the first row of seats will be inline with the pitch, juz that when it comes time for NFL games. It will be slightly lower, not a big deal.

Exciting times for us. (y)

Ooooh, ain't it clever!

BUT

All them sliding wheels on rails, hydraulic whats-you-call-em, bits that slide in, bits that go up and down - and this is going to work flawlessly, DL? I mean, I hope it does, really.

How long before the pitch 'breaks' - two weeks in? A month?

I agree with @Armstrong_11 above - think we should use this to get some REAL home advantage.

Last minute of a NLD, Arsenal get a free kick in a dangerous area.... some unpleasant gooner starts their run up.... *craaaaaaaaaank* .... falls into chasm.

I'm an American spurs fan with a quick question based on the video. Do they really do the NFL "huge USA flag" thing at the start of games in London? It seems even more tacky than usual if the game isn't even in the US.

I really hope this going to work well. To a layman it looks like the pitch will eventually fall into thirds if we keep retracting it. If it works then it's a chance to get more revenue in to pay for the new stadium.

The games are orginised by the nfl. So i'd blame the americans.

Tbh it's a bit of fun. Think they do americanise it. Something different for the day. No harm in it.

My sentiments exactly, It is all very good being the first to use this kind of technology, but I am sure there are going to be teething troubles.

60,000 people sitting there waiting for the pitch to come out because someone forgot to oil the wheels last week,

Anyway I hope that this is just my pessimism, born from 46 years of following my beloved Spurs,

On the opposite side of the fence, I think that this stadium will definitely put us on the world sporting map. I heard recently that there will be the opportunity of playing the Superbowl overseas in the future/ I think that NWHL would be the prime choice if this was to happen.

With our escapades in the UCL being broadcast around the world, EPL games being watched in every corner of the world and American Football being Broadcast, Brand THFC could be about to be on the crest if a very big wave.

Thank You Mr. Levy

One big advantage is if we wish to congest the midfield we can just roll out the middle bit...(y) shrewd thinking DL

imagine the pitch 'feels' different, then we'd be the only club to know it well, giving a natural advantage

I think that in principle it's great, but like other fans, I'm a bit sceptical about the functionality.

For example, I wish that it was the NFL pitch that split apart to reaveal the pristine football surface underneath. With my limited but bitter gardening experience, I wouldn't be at all surprised to eventually see lines of dead grass along the edges of the connecting sections etc. Just saying, hope I'm wrong of course!

Ehmmm... the natural grass has to be the on top so it can be retracted to go get some sunshine, and to not have those nasty reels where the top turf would move.

I understand that, but grass is a natural thing that likes to nit together when you lay sections of it together. Anyone who's ever had to lay new turf will know this. So just when the grass has settled and has nit itself together down the edges of the sections, its suddenly ripped apart again to make way for the NFL pitch. Eventually it might look like this pic below. I know that pitches are partially synthetic nowadays, but this has to a bit of a nightmare for the groundsman. Poor sod, no one ever thinks about that guy... :(

I think I've laboured this point way too much, so I'm going to leave it here ;)
