So, spread rather rapidly through the club if indeed Omicron variant.

Games being postponed, kind of got me thinking, if it can go through a team so quickly, how long until the mass gathering of fans becomes an issue once more, and sees games played in empty stadiums again.

Surely that would see Levy( like many) take a more cautious approach regarding spending with revenue streams reduced once more.

Hope this scenario doesn't play out, not now we have a truly elite manager who needs backing, and has no doubt been told he'll have a decent wedge to spend.

Brighton postponed.

It had to happen but it is frustrating that the two teams we play next in Leicester and Brighton are both in poor form or have lots of injuries and are probably quite winnable games because of this. I doubt the conditions would be as advantageous next time. A shame but it’s where we are now.

Depends on how quickly people get their vaccines sorted. I think that's very much a last resort and Levy will be aware of that.

I think it’s been established Omicron will spread fast and cases will go up. The crux is whether that leds to more hospitalised or it’s milder or vaccine has some effect. Can be 200k cases a day if that doesn’t led to increase in many getting ill it’s fast spread is irrelevant.

You'd like to think so.

The fallout if we are hampered financially and can't fully back Conte to see what he can do, and then he leaves.

Lot's of 'what ifs' I'll concede. But not totally unthinkable.

I'm sure most fans would understand, but Spurs and luck are not usually a marriage I'm accustomed to unfortunately.

Mandate wearing masks in the stadium will help.

I get what your saying, I really do, however, we're already being informed to work from home if we can, Media over reaction etc, etc.

So who feckin knows with this shower of shite running the gig.

If Omicron is not as bad then I wonder if getting it is not such a bad thing. If symptoms are mild but it creates some immune response against covid as a whole. Having so many get it now is possibly ideal for us. 2 games now off, maybe the 3rd will follow, players can hopefully test clean in a week and be extra protected.

Depends if or what any lasting effect there are.

This is really bad news.

For one I can't see the Leicester game going ahead as the same players isolating now will be isolating until at least the 18th, which is the day before Liverpool. And there's surely no way we can play Liverpool the day that we re-open our training ground.

Even if we forfeit Rennes and play Liverpool as planned, we'll still have 3 fixtures to re-arrange in an already packed schedule. That's assuming the same fate doesn't hit anyone else that we're due to play - which given the spread of Omicron, is actually looking likely.

I'm hoping we don't go back to where we were in 2020 where football has to take a break or we have to play without crowds, but it's definitely not impossible given the latest government rollouts yesterday. At the very minimum I'd expect mandatory mask wearing and stricter covid checks on the door.

Sure, but I think everyone is getting covid in their lifetime anyway. Hopefully being vaccinated limits the lasting damage. Rather get the lesser variant if it is indeed less impactful.

We simply don’t know yet. All scenarios are in play, from Omicron being a blessing, to it causing an apocalypse. But, we should know quickly, because it’s spreading fast, there will be a lot of data soon. Ten days from now, I’d guess.

Please elaborate old bean
Eric Morecambe
When Eric played an incompetent 'Mr Memory', unable to remember anything without unsubtle prompting from Ernie, Ernie prompted Eric with "Arsenal!" disguised very badly as a cough. Later, whenever Ernie, or anyone else, coughed or sneezed, Eric would shout "Arsenal!" (Wiki)

We play Morecambe fc in the FAC
And one symptom of Covid is a cough.

There’s s joke in there somewhere.

It's not unthinkable for sure.. I think that the backlog of fixtures and the fact that the team won't be able to train together for a while is more concerning.
