No, it's just outside of Guildford. Lovely little course! Is that near Chippenham?

I had a free round at my course on Monday and was ok on the front 9. Back 9 i developed a horrible pull and was losing a ball on pretty much every hole! Hopefully sorted that last night on the range ?I played on Monday and was the opposite. First few holes I could barely hit the ball in the air, was +18 after 6, then remembered how to play golf and was +9 for the remaining 12. Makes no sense whatsoever....
Yeah i turned my slice into a draw but now it has evolved into a pull.I had a free round at my course on Monday and was ok on the front 9. Back 9 i developed a horrible pull and was losing a ball on pretty much every hole! Hopefully sorted that last night on the range ?
Thats exactly what i was doing i think. Focused on that yesterday and other than the odd hook i didn't hit anything left of target.Yeah i turned my slice into a draw by now it has evolved into a pull.
Hopefully i sorted it yesterday though as i noticed i had a bit of a fly away right arm, so tucked in my right elbow and i didn't pull for the rest of the round.
strangly it was only affecting my irons, woods and fairway woods still pretty much straight. (which in this weather is great)
Just had a GLORIOUS session at the range, think I might have mastered golf boys!!
(Watch me shoot 120 on Monday)
No-one ever masters golf. Trust me on this.
It’s like watching Happy Gilmour.Bryson Dechambeau has just won another tournament and seems to be heading for world #1. He uses clubs pretty much all the same length so that the swing doesn't change, his putter is clamped to his left arm to just below the elbow so that everything is 'locked', eliminating extraneous movement. And in the enforced 'off season' he has put on at least 20 pounds of muscle so that he's now built like a brick shithouse and can drive the ball close to 400 yards.
I have to say I hate it. He looks like a beefed-up ball-hitting robot straight from the club manufacturers r&d dept.
Should we applaud it? Is it even the same game played by Seve and Tom Watson? Should the rules change to shift the balance back, or is this the future?
It’s like watching Happy Gilmour.
Trouble is all you can do is either change the balls so they don’t fly as far or start making more hazards actually on the fairway, it’s not like he’s personally done anything wrong.
Either that or he’s got to use an airflow ball, probably still hit it further of the tee than most of us!
Progress...?? That's bandit territory!In other news...I shot an 81 followed by a 77 this weekend (nett 63 and 59 respectively - 18 handicap). Progress!
Oh how I know your pain. Played off 9 for years now struggling off 15.Progress...?? That's bandit territory!
My game has gone to shit, I have gone from 12 to 15 in 2 years despite playing regularly and no sign of dropping anytime soon, just cannot get the blobs off my card.

I've got the opposite issue, in the medal on Saturday I hit 6 drives over 280 (Garmin S60 for anyone looking for a new GPS), but only hit 3 GIR, was absolutely awful from 100 yards in.Thanks all, yeah it's good to make real progress. I've never been long (that's what she said!), maybe 220yds off the tee, but i work a tonne on 150yds and in, and have seen massive improvements there, which gives me loads of birdie/par chances. Also moved to a 3 piece ball for the 1st time recently and the difference is massive.
I am expecting a decent sized hcap cut soon, which doesn't scare me anymore, I'd be fine off 14 or 15.
If I could just sort my putting out...!
