4 year contract at $8M a year supposedly too, which is crazy for MLS
His merchandising options whilst playing 'at home' will also go from very lucrative to insane, will they not?

Donovan is on a $2.5M/yr salary, Keane $4M, Henry $3.75 and Obafemi Martins $1.6M... there are a few others. So while it isn't the norm, the league definitely takes care of its more marketable players.

One of my least favorite things about football fans, is how they disregard common human traits when it comes to footballers. You might see them as something above our station, but I can guarantee you this.....they share everything in common with us at a basic level......other than nobody ever tells them that they're wrong.
But they have the same needs and wants. One of them being everybody wants to be paid more. I wanted my current job very much as it's cancer research. It's a great thing to be part of. Did I still want to milk as much money as I could from that? You bet I did. Footballers and agents are the same.
They aren't going to put themselves in the stupid position of making less money.
So sure Madrid have talked to him or his agent. And sure they've said this would be great. And maybe even Real Madrid offered 21 billion dollars a game. But if they could use PSG to get 21 billion and five dollars, they would do that. Just like you would.
Because.....they're people.
Start applying the same fundamental principals you see in every person in your life, to them. Especially when it comes to things of status and pride.....because remember how I mentioned nobody ever tells them they are wrong.....well that leads to a fucked up sense of importance
