Loans? Excellent news as we seem to be able to pay wages but not transfer fees

That information is game changing if true.
It also suggests that as a result, lots of deals will be done later in the window (whenever that will be), as players wait and see what their options are.
Sounds like our usual kind of targets may change as well (although we’ve always had an eye for a deal).
My biggest worry is that our best players (Kane, Son) get dissatisfied with our progress and look towards the exit door. Hopefully we can strengthen both with some short term loans and some long term targets.
Thanks for the update
Interesting he mentions H not for sale under any circumstances - does that mean others might be (e.g. Son, Dele, Ndombele). I agree though that my biggest worry is also how long we hold until these guys as Son in particular is a shadow of his former self.

If it was up to me I'd be selling Dele and possibly Son this summer. N'dombele is close to getting kicked out the door too but I'm willing to give him a chance next year.

I think he only mentioned Harry because he’s the only one being talked about going

God wouldn't it be brilliant if Madrid comes in and "nicks" Mourinho from us.

Knowing our luck he'll be the one star name Madrid won't try to steal from our clutches.

Loans might help with some players, but hopefully we can get some players from lesser clubs through swapping some of our dross and squad players and chucking in some loans for our youth players too.

Was thinking if we make a move for Eze, players like Amos and Carter-Vickers could be good makeweights. We like working with Warburton, too.

As I understand it (going by Dragon's post), a lot of clubs are looking to do business be that selling or buying but there is no money. Loaning players that would otherwise move for fee's will be the normal way of things this summer, which does not mean only bad players will be available. I imagine loan contracts will look a little bit different with more loan to buy deals. There might be more of a desire from incoming players to do well if they know that not performing could result in going back to a club they don't want to be at.

I like loans with buy options. It's a good chance to try before you buy although it works both ways if we loan players out. Glad we didn't buy Gedson so far and never understood that one at all.

Interesting that there's the potential of Jose leaving, no matter how small. I wonder if regret has started creeping in.

Hmm there aren't many loans I can see making much sense.

Bale? Maybe Ivan Perisic from Bayern? I know Jose wanted him at Man Utd.
Coutinho?

With a couple buys, frees, and loans we could do something like:

Holjberg---Lo Celso
Bale---Coutinho---Willian
Kane

On current form Willian is better (whereas last season I would say Son was better). Wouldn't hurt to have options though. We definitely need more creativity which Willian would give us. Plus free transfer
Willian over Moura certainly even over Lamela but Im a Son fanboy and even though he is having a bit of a rough patch he is IMO a far better player than Willian, I do see your point however.
