Apparently we are interested in Valencia’s 21 year old GK Giorgi Mamardashvili. Valencia are another team strapped for cash and need to raise 70 mil euros this window.

(translation to the relevant part)

Mamardashvili has been a Valencia player for some time . The school was right with the Georgian goalkeeper and for less than a million euros, Valencia has secured a goalkeeper of high level and projection. In a Valencia from another era he would be the starting goalkeeper for many seasons, but now there are other priorities. The Georgian is a goalkeeper much to the taste of the Premier and United's initial interest has been joined by Totenham's.

Relations between the two clubs are good after the transfer of Bryan Gil and the London club is already thinking of a future replacement for Lloris , whose contract ends in 2024, but who is already 36 years old. At the moment there has been no formal offer, but for Valencia it is an extra sale (almost clean) that would give oxygen to empty coffers.

I’m not sure Juve would like to deal with us again, seeing how well the last two went, in our favour? I’m also no expert on McKennie, so have no idea if he’d be a good purchase for us, presuming a high fee and in to the first team.
As well as both played for us, hard to imagine they would be upset about getting the money they wanted for the players who were not performing for them. That is the way it goes and they were able to get Vlahovic because of it. It's no different than how we feel about Lo Celso or any of our players who work out elsewhere. We didn't fleece them.

I hope so because paying £50m+ for a someone who can take a decent free kick is excessive
Not sure about him either but think of the free kicks Harry wins and if he banged them in prolifically. 50 mil would be a snip, but the 70 end is rediculous. Guaranteed set piece goals but I can see the attraction.

I don’t think we can compare JWP & Eriksen as like-for-like. JWP can play as part of a midfield 2, can strike a mean cross from open play as well as from a dead ball, and is an obvious upgrade on Winks if or when the latter moves on. Whereas I don’t ever see Conte playing Eriksen as part of a midfield 2; rather he is a plan B against a low block or when we’re chasing games. If we don’t buy Eriksen, I don’t necessarily see us shelling out lots of cash on a plan B alternative; whereas we need a deeper-lying replacement for Winks in all circumstances, whether that’s JWP, McKennie, Bissouma or whoever.

Feels like a player who goes to Man Utd for 50m and doesn’t quite do as good as their fans want.
I like him, but considering big pat is supposed to have lists….can’t be top. Surely.
Feels like the kind of player Chelsea/City sign to boost their homegrown quota (see Sidwell, Parker, Drinkwater)

Please no, people have enough difficulty trying to spell Eriksen, the attempted spelling for this fella would be ridiculous.

McKennie replacing Winks would give us a good group of 4 central mid, add in Eriksen and have some great options. Not a big outlay and that’s a pretty decent set of players.

Odd move to let Gollini go as it was a waste having a non HG backup keeper, add Forster, only to then look at Marmardashvilli. Unless he’s seen as Lloris long term replacement.

I would imagine if there was any truth in it he'd be bought and loaned out with that in mind.

I think he’d be Hugo’s long term replacement.. I assume it’s an opportunity that we will try and take advantage of due to the club needing money and potentially loan him out.

I hope not, he’s got a very dangerous trait and something that’s a massive no no if you want to be a quality keeper. He’s got a nasty habit of pushing the ball back into the ‘danger area’ when making a save. That in the EPL often = goal.
