Bloody hell it's hot.

New thread

You can discuss the new signing in the player thread. It shouldn't need saying, but well, it's you lot so yeah, sadly, it does.

Feels surreal that we are now sitting here with the possibility of new information having just signed our 6th player. More to the point it's only the 19th of July. Very excited to see what info comes out now as it feels completely wide open from here on out!

Whats our current outlay looking like?

Peresic - £0
Forster - £0
Bissouma - £25 - £35
Lenglet - £4m Loan Fee
Richarlson £50-£60
Spence - £12-£20

So current liability of Circa £90m

And we had funds of £150M (+ potentially any sales)

No doubt just cause we have it, doesn't mean need to spend it. But appear to be recruiting well, whilst leaving some cash in the bank if we need it

Can’t argue with the window’s business so far. Surely outgoings would be priority now, create some space for 1 or 2 more incomings later in the window.

offset by sales of Carter Vickers and Bergwyn with more sale to come - hopefully

Yup - bear in mind, we've also sold Bergwijn and CCV for a combined ~£34m, plus whatever we got for Clarke.

Not bad at all.

Yeah offset by at least 1/3...you'd assume Lo Celso, Winks will bring a decent amount in plus any others too

Pretty sure forster and perisic would have negotiated a nice signing on fee, players are never really free

What about Romero, are we buying him this summer or what?

Selling before we buy now is likely just about establishing what our remaining budget is going to be. I wouldn't be surprised if we are going to go big on a CB or AMF and getting good deals on the outgoing players could be the difference between getting our top targets or not

Surely there's somewhere else that the general transfer chit chat (round 346) can go?!
Agreed i'd suggest here

No way Sunderland paid that surely?
Well this is what is confusing people now. Depending on which journalist is reporting it, the number changes depending on whether they've included addons or not. I'd assume in Clarkes case that's the overall figure. Either include all the clauses on every deal or not at all.
