Regular 97mph in last seasons big bash. Scary quick. What is scary quick considered to be now... anything over 88mph
Hell i remember Craig White bowling up at 95mph for a while, before his side got buggered.
All of our bowlers seem to level off at 82-85 MPH. I love seeing that graphic of Right Arm Fast next to a bowlers' name but it's so rare now.
So same as Broad then.Regular 97mph in last seasons big bash. Scary quick.
I see Jennings is struggling (again), IIRC that's three low scores out in the West Indies. If he has a bad series he's going to be under immense pressure in the Ashes and/or England will have to make a decision. It grates that a number of people have seen this coming so I'm hoping he actually manages a few scores during this series.

How many chances do people need, seriously
Has been brilliant at short leg but unfortunately when you stick a bat in his hand he doesn't produce
Some people step in and step up.Jennings ain't one of them.Wont score the runs we need at the top of the order as long as I've got a hole in my ass
How long does it take the brains trust to see it?
I'd rather Tom Carroll opened up for us....
Roy, Hales or Denly. All of them at least have the quality. It's a bit like Buttler, I advocated his return and it got poo-poo'd but he is a quality player so him playing had a chance of working and I think it's the same with those three, any chances they've had at test level has been 'bitty' really, they've not had the faith shown that some get. If I had to go with one I'd say Roy and I've felt for a while now that England are going through the process until the time comes when they can't help but pick him. I guess we'll see.I only wish I could argue with any of that, but tragically, I can't. His time surely has to be up now (I know your name's not Shirley...)
The trouble is, at this late stage, who do we throw in there to partner Burns? Roy? Hales? Denly...? Moeen?
With the Wold Cup and The Ashes on the near horizon, we need to have settled opening partnerships for both formats and right now, we're a long way off.
.
Roy definitely has the quality to play test cricket. encouraging that he made the Lions squad.
Ed Smith has said England will pick the right players for the right conditions. I’m fairly sure they view Jennings as someone who is a good option on slow low turning wickets, as he plays spin so well. but in the English summer, i fully expect him to make way for Roy.
The other option i’ve always thought, is that Bairstow has everything you need in an opener.
We’ve actually got a few options if the selectors look at it in the right way.
Jennings was picked for India because he was a 'great' player of spin bowling
He averaged 18 in 9 innings
He might be a good player of spin and even slightly quicker stuff in county cricket but he’s a rabbit in headlights when he steps up a level
You need a bit more to your game than specialist short leg!!
Plenty of other guys deserve a crack. We're not exactly losing anything by trying alternatives
