Some way to go and we need to see who is fit after the international breaks but first thoughts can come in.

For me, if everyone is fit, there is only two positions to debate: Bale and Son or Vinicius and Gio. It feels harsh to take out Vini after he scored but I think Bale brings more to the party and I am hoping to keep Gareth a year longer. Depending on Sons fitness maybe take it slowly and place him on the bench.

----------------------Lloris-----------------------
Tanganga----Sanchez----Rodon---Reguilon---
--------------Ndombele--Hojbjerg-------------
-Bale----------------Lo Celso-----------Lucas---
-----------------------Kane-----------------------

Subs: Hart, Aurier, Alderweireld, Davies, Sissoko, Bergwijn, Lamela, Son, Vinicius

No space for Dier, Dele, Winks

I feel like ppl are getting carried a bit away with last night in respect of the back 4. Don't get me wrong, all 4 of them played well in the end but equally it was against a Villa side lacking their best and most creative player and 1st half, whilst he was way OTT with his negative comments, Gary Neville could see the shakiness in our defending.

Sanchez is a player that doesn't want to lead. He was pointing directions last night but he looked lost doing it. He's far better with the experience of Toby alongside him. Rodon on the other hand really impressed me. He's fast and better on the ball than Dave so for me it's Rodon that should probably partner Toby. Equally though, Toby and Dave have been good together in previous games, bar Arsenal - which was a bit freak. I think Jose reverts to those 2 at CB.

Tanganga is clearly a brilliant defender but he's limited going forward. I still think Aurier is good and it should be between them 2 rest of the way. Only issue is that Japhet gets a bit narrow and that allowed Villa to find space down their left wing. Doherty doesn't fit this team and probably never will.

Team vs Toon:

Lloris
Tanganga Sanchez Toby Reguilon
Ndombele PEH
Bale Lucas Son
Kane

Subs: Hart, Rodon, Aurier, Davies, GLC, Dele, Lamela, Bergwijn, Vinicius

GLC off the bench for Ndombele works well, particularly as he's coming back from injury. He's gives us great energy in the last 20 mins to close out a game along with Lamela and Bergwijn.

Bale comes back in. He'd been our best player going into Arsenal game and don't think he should suddenly be dropped. He has game winning ability and that attacking 4 is a good group to push on with.

Settling the defence down is the key rest of season. Mourinho needs to pick 4 and stick with them.

It will depend on fitness, but I'm not sure we will see Lo Celso, Ndombele and Son all start.

That could be the 3 you would need to sub off.
I would probably start LoCelso on the bench and bring him on for Ndombele.

I’d like us to take it easy with Son. He’s played loads of late never mind the injury. Maybe a place on the bench and a 20 minute run out if fit.

If we don’t have enough to beat Newcastle without him we have bigger problems than I thought!

Definitely bringing on GLC and Son will give the Toon some big problems in the last 20-25 mins

Lloris
Tanganga Toby Rodon Regulion
LoCelso Holjberg Ndombele
Kane Moura Son
Subs- Vinicious, Bergwijn, Lamela, Sanchez, Hart, Davies, Aurier, Bale, Deli.

Just 2 changes for me. Try and get some stability in this starting 11 and confidence. Sanchez goes because he's my whipping boy and Vinicious, not because I dont rate him but Son is better choice. Definitely try and get him on with 25mins to go.
Bale if we're comfortably in front only.
I've a feeling we're gonna thump them so thats a worry.

I'm hoping the game is over before then.
I dont like setting up so you can have a go with 20mins left after its gone tits up. Put your strongest team out and get the job done.
Thats over thinking it for me.

I am probably the only one who thinks that Lo Celso is not quite up with it in terms of form and match fitness. Not because one player might be better than another that they should automatically be picked. On current form I would play Lamela ahead of him. I would also play him ahead of Bale for the sole reason he back tracks better so will provide more cover for Japhet.

Tanganga and Rodon were impressive and thought worked well with Sanchez. As we do not have a lot of games to play about with, I would keep this back four.

Lucas was brilliant against Aston Villa going through the middle so I would keep him there.

Hopefully Son will be back and rejuvenated, as I noticed he seemed very lack lustre the past few games and seemed to need a rest before his injury. If son is not fit, I would bring in Bergwijn. He might be shooting blanks where goals are concerned, but I like the way he makes things happen when he is on the field.

My Pick
Lloris ??

Tanganga ??????? ------ Sanchez ?? ------ Rodon ??????? ------ Reguilon ??

Hojbjerg ?? ---- Ndombele ??

Lamela ?? ------ Lucas ?? ------- Son ??

Kane ???????

I think Vinny should Play. Hes come in and out and played very few minutes yet showed so much enthusiasm and endeavour against Villa and we should try abd keep that momentum going as we need as many players that can bully as possible and Insuspect he will do that more than Kane now

Lloris
Japh Rodon Sanchez Reggy
TN PEH
Lucas Kane Lo Celso (or Son or Stevie or Bale or Lamela)
Vinny

Lloris; Tanganga, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Ndombele; Bale*, Lucas, Son; Kane

* don't thik Jose will play him, but i would. I think we will see Lamela oder Lo Celso instead of Bale.

It genuinely amazes me when people do stuff like that on here. I've tried so many times, then when I press 'Preview' it just looks like someone's eaten a bunch of words & spewed them back up.

I see posts like that one from @Bulletspur & instantly think, I can just about access 'contacts' on my phone & you're here giving a pictorial guide to the United Nations. You ****.

Reports that Davies, Doherty and Reguillon are all unavailable for Sunday. Will probably mean that Cirkin and another youngster will be named to the bench.

Nice lineup. Hope Regi's fit, but we've got Tanganga in case. Think Bale will come on at some point for GLC.; he may start anyway. Huge game for us. Hope we turn up for it. The fans need a boost above all else. Good performance and result will give us momentum and much-needed unity for the run in.
