Does anyone know if they have changed the guy/girl that runs the Spurs twitter feed. I don't know if anyone else has noticed but they seem a lot more informal, whilst still informative and interactive with the fans. If they have changed it is a really pleasant move by the club, as it is little things like this that I like as it shows the club are focusing on their image and trying to improve fan relations.

Has anyone else noticed a change and if so what do they think?

Don't advocate anyone losing their job but maybe they could do something about the interviewer of the players, and get a better host or more creative ideas for their Spurs TV features.

definitely a move in the right direction (y)

just a little frustrating during a transfer window when you think it might be transfer news - as they rarely used to tweet anything unofficial / or not to be published on the website.

To be honest, I don't know, but I think so. The other day when we went mad and announced loads, there was a tweet saying they're delighted to announce there's no more announcements, I thought it was a nice touch and showed a human side, we'll have to keep an eye on it

That's exactly one of the tweets that stuck with me. Other than their captions for the photos and them asking fans what players they want to see, that tweet reminded me that it is someone sitting behind a computer and enjoying the the announcements too.

Good point. Banter is all well and good but I think stuff like that can be bad for the image of the club. They probably had someone in the interim as a standard but actually looked for a new handler with the right skills/personality who they have newly recruited.

Spursofficial is a lot more involved with the fans than just giving out info like they were before.

I like it

I think we maybe have a fan running the account now? Especially when you add in the laughing at Liverpool tweet previously mentioned.

During the meetings of the THST it has been raised a few times that the club seemed to remote from the fans and not forthcoming with information. Perhaps this part of a larger effort to do that?

That came to my mind to. It's not massive but it does go to show that the club take in what the THST want and it is small things like that that will keep fans onside. At least let's them know the club does are about what they think.

The other thing they need to do now that THST requested is to start streaming youth matches.

Although I do follow the account, I get most of the twitter updates on here. The one mentioned about the 'news is there is no more news' did make my attention. I believe the club should be friendly and engaging, we are more than just customers after all.

I'd not be surprised if, rather than the person changing, it was the system behind the scenes that's changed. I've been working in a large company doing part of their social media work for over a year now and the process to get tweets out takes over a week, because it has to go through 3 levels of approval with amendments and it really shouldn't be that difficult.

(note: I'm not a writer mind, which is why that reads like shit!)

I always think a business should speak as a human on social media as opposed to the robotic tone some go with - more personable, interactive and trusting. Good move by the club. I'll do the Presenting on the spurs channel - got a Showreel the lot

Yep. Noticed they're more informal and eager to interact on twitter.

It took a long time for them to realise that it's a football club. Have some fun and be light hearted, we don't need to appear like press releases from emergency cabinet meetings.
