Occasionally we came unstuck. But at our best we always succeeded at home at least, only dropping points twice all season and to good teams.

Yeah at our best we would usually break down teams at home but often couldn't do it away from home. If we were exceptional at it we would have been closer to winning the league.

There's no way he could judge by a few millimeters though. With Var you now have to be behind (not level) with the defensive line to be certain not to be offside.
There needs to be a rethink on what constitutes "level." As you say he's looking across the line, for all intents and purposes he *is* level and I'm sure thinks he is, yet VAR adjudges him to be inches offside. Players now have to intentionally stay behind the last defender, because "level" has been legislated out of existence. The purpose of the law is to prevent goal hanging, not to measure down to the millimeter, so the law itself should be adjusted to account for the change that technology has wrought.

Part of the problem was starting Dele and Lucas who hadn't played at all on Friday.

Should of stuck with Bergwign and played one of them.

I'd have Ndombele on for Sissoko now, and Lamela on for Dele at some point. Bergwign for Lucas later.

Because we never play with more than 1 creative player. It was always on Eriksen to provide creativity. Now we have 2 creative midfielders but we don’t play them together.

Who do you mean aside from Lo Celso?

I know @Wheeler Dealer will disagree but the second half of that half was like watching Pochettino's Spurs. High defensive line. Total control of possession. Lots of probing (and backwards sideways passing).

And like Poch's team of old we finally fashioned a couple of very good chances (thanks to the closest thing we have to Eriksen: Lo Celso) and are unlucky to go in 0-0.

Much improved last 20 minutes.

Dier, again, very solid at the back.
There are similarities, but with a little more risk under Poch, although he did have Eriksen and Dembele to probe.

From the water break onwards I think we’ve played well, pegged West Ham back and deserve to be in front (would be if Son understood offside). Kane more involved, and at first he looked like he was forcing the issue but by the end of the half he looked sharp, Lo Celso same, Lucas should’ve at least hit the target at the end and looked lively. Dele perhaps lacking some inventiveness but he’s showing for everything and linking play well.

Yes, everything looks a bit forced and a bit laboured but it’s positive, there’s clearly a method and we should score if we continue like this.

But you are still watching ?

Headed out to the supermarket as soon as that was disallowed...

Obviously I’m using hyperbole but it really kills my enjoyment of the game. Eg the Leicester game where Son’s right toe was given offside when 1-0 and we ended up losing. Didn’t even bother watching the rest of the game and didn’t really care we lost - appreciate people will feel differently but to me the whole thing was just contrived and meaningless.

Got better as the half went on, and should be leading at the break. Son and Dele need to do more. Kane feeling his way back into it. GLC looks calm and collected. Dier has been decent too.

Please, give us a new LB this year...

Ben Davies has had a good game do far........

Seriously, I'm not exaggerating or blowing my own trumpet. I'm not that good a footballer really. But ffs I could have finished that chance by Moura. The near side of goal was wide open!!
I can just about understand if he tried to blast it but it was a deliberate attempt to side foot into the net from about 8 yards - which was about how far he missed by!

Ndombers on to break through the Spam midfield please. or break through his waistline. either would be entertaining.

Really hoping Ndombele comes on and makes a contribution, kick start his career with us.
Dele is better off the ball than on it but when there is little space he can't make decisive runs into the box so is nullified.

Nope! Sissoko is one of our better shielding the defence at the moment.

Yeah it's difficult though, because if the goal had been allowed despite being slightly offside, West Ham could make the opposite case that it's not fair. Idk what the solution is.
