Think that was better than much of the griping here would have you believe. We looked threatening on the counter, Lucas and Kane both had good shots right at Fabianski, we had a goal chalked off for being six inches off side, and Lucas absolutely should have scored. Yes it was lifeless in the first ten minutes but when the opponent is parking the bus you have to patiently probe until you find the openings, which we did do, just didn't apply the finish.

Pleased with the back line again. Attack are a few yards off the pace. For me, the unjustified love in with dele and lucas continues, that's still hurting us. Would like to see Lamela and Stevie on sooner rather than later.

Dele is awful, with west ham so deep, would prefer a more creative player than Sissoko in the midfield

Dele off for Ndombele or Lamela. Need players who can pass quickly to unlock them.

The frustrating thing is, if we go ahead I think we will tear them apart as they are doing nothing at the moment and if they have to try and get something we will open them up.

Some nice passes from Kane, seems much sharper today.

Ndombele on for Sissoko. Ridiculous how slow Sissoko is on the ball.

(Eric Dier is looking very very good)

Dele Alli really struggling in the number 10 position when its tight and lack of pace and power in wide areas. Lo Celso should be playing as a number 10 imo.

But we then have noone to carry the ball forward

I'm sorry but the only shitshow has come from some of the ridiculous comments on here. We've been fine.

Took us a while to get into passing patterns but last 15-20 was total domination.

WH have turned up with the task of spoiling our night by blocking the channels and sitting very deep. The only time they get forward is for set pieces - that tells you everything.

Last 5 mins we started pulling them apart as they got tired. Continue with this intensity and we'll get more chances.

It's funny cause I guarantee the same people saying "West Ham will turn up to frustrate us" will be the same people saying "This is awful".....What were you expecting???

I know @Wheeler Dealer will disagree but the second half of that half was like watching Pochettino's Spurs. High defensive line. Total control of possession. Lots of probing (and backwards sideways passing).

And like Poch's team of old we finally fashioned a couple of very good chances (thanks to the closest thing we have to Eriksen: Lo Celso) and are unlucky to go in 0-0.

Much improved last 20 minutes.

Dier, again, very solid at the back.

Bet we don’t do the same at the restart.

Kane just looks a million miles off of the pace (understandably). He looks so rigid and immobile. I hope the latest layoff wasn't the straw that broke the camels back.

Overall I think we've played well. I appreciate Sissokos effort but he plays in such a crucial role and his passing is just too atrocious.

Looked like we were organised and had shape which is a hell of a lot better than what we were witnessing earlier in the season.

We deserved that goal but what can you do? I think the tempo will pick up second half, we've got a strong bench and may even see Ndombele.

It’s amazing how one simple piece of technology has rendered an entire sport unwatchable.
The problem is the camera can see more accurately than the player. Theres no way Sonny could know he was offside there, unless hes got superman's eyesight.

If I was Jose I would bring on Bergwijn for Lucas, Ndombele for Alli and push Lo Celso higher up and then maybe bring Lamela on for him, Sessegnon in for Davies and have 2 attacking fullbacks

West Ham defending very compact especially in midfield with Soucek, Noble and Rice so we need movement in attack and midfield, make runs behind their back line. Sissoko needs to stop hiding from the ball
Sissoko hides from the ball because every time he receives it our attack breaks down thanks to a poor or wayward pass.

I love his redemption story but let's not pretend he's learned how to pass during this time, it's the main thing he's lacking from being actually top class.

Agree with the rest.

Pretty appalling over all. The first twenty minutes of passing was some of the worst I’ve seen from us. Constantly in to Wedt Ham players feet, it’s got marginally better since.

I don’t get why we play Dele against teams that sit deep, all we see is him receive the ball, turn back, delay... delay... pretend step over... delay delay, and then when everyone’s back and set, lay it off to someone nice and square. Just no dynamic nature to his play, but I guess he stays on in case he has one of those games where he offers little then sort of finds himself in the right place to grab a goal.

I’d be impressed if Son is vaguely out of breath, he’s done ok, I just think the way we are playing doesn’t make the most of him at all. Need to have him getting the ball to feet and flying at defenders.

I’m still letting Kane off a bit, hasn’t offered a whole lot, but shows signs of getting into it and hasn’t played for six months.

Lucas did alright when he got bored and hit one from 30 yards, his second chance in the box with much more space was horrendous. I’d still rather have Bergwijn on.

Lo Celso has done alright, so have Serge and Dier, Davies is also having a typically tidy sort of game. Ndombeles play style would likely suit this game, getting his foot on the ball and playing passes from deep - if he hasn’t even got 45minutes in him then god knows.

Either way, we are massively uninspiring and boring to watch right now.
