Just watched back the 15 minutes from 10 to 25 minutes and I could see what we sensed yesterday, the game changed over that quarter of an hour.
On ten City were running us ragged on twenty-five they were struggling to find any way through and we were breaking on them in numbers.
Their defence model of fouling us on halfway to give away a free kick but allow them to get back in position went to the wall because we wouldn't go down struggled through leaving them short on numbers which meant they had to drop deeper.

Us football fans are a simple lot. We don’t necessarily renquire champagne football or 5-0 victories each week. But we do require our players to fight like hell for every ball, to give everything for they have from the first whistle to the last and to play with a plan.

Do that, and we will be happy, even when the results don’t go our way.

I went to the game yesterday excited to back after 18 months, but with low expectations. To say those expectations were exceeded by the result and performance is a massive understatement.

Spurs won, and won well, so the sun is shining, the birds are singing and the world is a happy, lovely place again.

One massive thing stood out for me, we weren't falling over easy looking for fouls at every moment. We had our moments because its part of the game and thats it. It was so refreshing to watch, we stayed on our feet and played football as best we could. When players such as, Grealish and Sterling keep looking for the fouls, it disrupts the flow, supporting players movement and slow down the game. This must be Nuno telling the players to play football and not look for the cheat or cheap option.

Was at the game yesterday. Not sure how it sounded on TV but the atmosphere in the ground was absolutely electric. Never heard the new stadium as loud as that. City fans were dreadful, worst away support I’ve heard.

The best atmosphere I have experienced at the new ground ironically was the Champions League game against Man City, it was brilliant, so if yesterday was anything like that game then it would have been fantastic to witness.

As for the city fans being crap yesterday, well, what else is new, I'm not surprised in the slightest that was the case.

They didn't like the contact element of the game, mainly because the Pep model depends on small quick players. If the referees keep this up City will struggle.

We also defended on the front foot, proactively rather than reactively, there was no build up of pressure and panicked clearances as we constantly disrupted their flow.

I feel when players as Stirling go down all the time, its detrimental to their team flow. look at this example of the past. 0.49 Gazza if this was today, he would go down for the pen but England score a goal thats revered today. watch this on YouTube

I get that. Just pointing out that sort of crowing after beating City in week one seems 1) a wee bit bit premature and 2) incongruous seeing as last season's result was actually better that today's.

If you look at the stats from today (34% possession, outshot 22 to 4, outpassed 599 to 318, etc.) one could be forgiven for thinking we hadn't actually played too much positive football at all and instead looked to score on the break. I love what I've seen of the team's togetherness under Nuno and hope it continues to grow, but the actual approach is not too dissimilar to the one we had under Jose.

I've seen a number of posts today rushing to prove others wrong (Dier and Sanchez playing vs. City comes to mind) and was similar. It would be nice to enjoy what is happened today and the good direction we're seemingly heading in.

Perhaps if people didn't rush to slate our players before a ball is kicked then others wouldn't rush to call them out on it when it turns out they are full of shit.

Where do you see 22 to 4 on shots? Stats On ESPN show 18 to 13 and 4 to 3 on goal.

Watching the MotD highlights back, you can see that the moment Man City stop getting through us, and we start controlling the game, is exactly when Skipp manages to adapt. First 10/15 mins he struggled with the pace of the game, and got caught out of position and possession. Once he got up to speed, he and Hojbjerg were nigh on impassable.

He's going to have a very good season.

Absolutely spot on. I think everyone at the club has very high hopes for Skippy. I forget who it was (maybe Ally Gold) who said we have a future Spurs Captain in the making.

Say it quietly, but it was Jose.

AG did say he thought a double pivot of PEH and Skipp would turn out to be awesome though.

I'm confident that we will get someone in to replace Kane if he leaves, which I feel he will. We have been linked to a few forwards which will be near completion so pending if in the event Kane goes. They will be done quickly. We may have to pay a little more because of time limits but I really do feel we will get someone in. The focal point bit I don't agree but thats football.

I think the mere fact Kane wasn't even in the stadium yesterday speaks volumes to me. I believe the club has already accepted the fact he's going to be gone very soon and is now in the process of a major re-build with Nuno at the helm, putting into practice his own ideas. Just imagine, it's almost as if Fabio has said to him 'You have an empty canvas to create your perfect team. Go and enjoy yourself' and just going by yesterday's evidence there might be something in that.

I saw the look on Nuno's face as he left the pitch yesterday to some incredible scenes around a packed stadium, and I have to say, I got goosebumps. Whatever the Portuguese is for 'Holy mother of God, what a place...'! I reckon that's what he was feeling.

I agree but he needs some more quality help in there. It’s not fair on him to expect him to perform like that every game in his first full PL season.

PEH was ridiculous yesterday, he really does look like a leader. Even my Mrs say surely he is the captain of the team? He just breeds confidence, I'm really looking forward to him and Skipp forming a partnership this season.

He was probably up there for player of the Euros, so it's no surprise he has come back and carried off where he finished for Denmark, we have a special player on our hands.

Another person (like Nuno) that I wasn't exactly enthusiastic about when he signed.

Come to think of it, bit like Son too.

Shows I know nothing about football.

Hoddle said he was, but despite there being 100s of cameras all over the place (and you can bet they were all looking for him), there was not one shot of him.

I think he borrowed the other Harry's cape if he was there.
