Anyone complaining about their offside goal and VAR not intervening can fuck off as last season Jota kicked Skipp in the head and it wasn’t checked. Where is the outrage about that?

also MOTD the red card tackle looks “horrendous from that angle”… Well yes Nate, just because the TV camera angle in the first shot makes him loook unlucky doesn’t mean it’s any less of a horror tackle. **** weasels
Yeh this is bonkers - the tackle looks horrendous from that angle because it was a horrendous tackle.

At long last we have a goal scorer ro replace the legend that was Jamie Carragher.
Looking forward to Matip having a fabulous career for us.

The argument about Skipp seems to be “he shouldn’t have been on the pitch”, which, fine, but then you can’t complain about Jones’ red card.

I'm glad Klopp couldn't bully the referee into giving them everything like he usually does.

Liverpool were just fouling all game. They could've got a lot more yellow cards. I can't believe Gomez didn't get one.

Brilliant point, the amount of fouls loserpool commited, in fact there was a number of bookings they should have got and I thought ref was letting them off with alot. The Jota one was a culmination of not only his tackles but the whole team.

The reason his foot rolls over the ball is because it’s already a very high challenge. The reason his foot then forces Bissouma’s foot (which is planted in the turf) to move back several inches and rotate his whole body is because:

a) there is heavy impact; and
b) the contact with the top of the ball is so incidental that the ball absorbs none of the weight of Jones’ studs up challenge.

We’ll hear about it for days but it’s one where I’m certain all the refs will be bemused by the controversy as it’s so clear cut.
And the absolute horse shit Neville was coming out with about how he was trying to get his foot on top of the ball to pull it back. With his body position, stretching for the ball and the momentum he had there wasn't a single chance in hell he'd have been a) trying to do that or b) been able to do that. Just absolute bollocks from Neville and there's obviously no way Jamie "thick as shit Liverpool supporter" Redknapp is going to tell him otherwise. Pathetic coverage of that tackle which was even more of a potential leg breaker than the one last week.

I got so mullered after the win I think I erased all memory of the game. Couldn't tell you if we were shite or superb.

Woke up with left over indian though, so days started well.

Absolutely. It was so weird he shouted 'oh no'.
He's said that many times and in all sorts of games, from a game like yesterdays to 'lesser' games such as Southampton against Leicester or somesuch. It's just something he says when there's a fuck up or something dramatic happens.

It absolutely isn't the manifestation of bias for or against anyone that some people are wetting their skivvies to pile into.

There is no amount of grandstanding and complaining by pundits that is going to change my mind on Curtis Jones, it was an appalling challenge and I can't believe that's being ignored to make a point about the officials. That was the clearest red you will ever see

Absolutely - this crap about controlling the ball nonsense. Then the narrative they tried to spin about the ref shown the freeze frame when sent to monitor.

It was dangerous play and a red card, lucky Biss is not seriously injured.

Can you imagine had it been other way round and it was Richarlsion that committed that foul. You can guarantee that it wouldn't be defended.

Please stop minging the tackle on Biss was *accidental* or he didnt *mean* too. The tackle regardless of intent or malice was dangerous, even if he doesn't go over the ball its still studs up and uncontrolled. If you make that kind of tackle, you are opening yourself up to a world of hurt both for you and your opponent. The diaz goal is a pretty shit but I couldn't give any fucks as it happens week in week out, we have had it and it will happen to us again. We won, fuck Liverpool.

Yeah I agree. It doesn't matter if he was trying to control the ball or not. It only matters if it was dangerous, and it was.

Most players don't try to injure other players so most red card tackles are a genuine attempt at a tackle or to control the ball.
