Why on earth did he give the red before looking at the screen ??
I have a feeling that it was process and that he had to give a red so he can then VAR it but I dont know.

He was booking havertz for the foulOne for the foul, one for the slap.
That’s an argument I’m sympathetic too but VAR checks for straight red cards as far as I’m aware. Not if an additional yellow should have been issuedEven if you were right, Still two cardable offences
Intent. Should've been a yellow for the tackle and a yellow for the aggressive intent.Anyone saying that we a red all day is joking. He tried to push him and it comes off his shoulder.

Initially I thought that. But another angle looked like an attempt at a slap. I suppose it’s not entirely clear. The officials don’t seem to all be in agreement with each other either. He’s pushed his shoulder then slipped onto the face, not a red for me
He always got pushed to the top without talent. If it came out he was Mike Riley’s nephew or something would make total senseThis is the ref that once gave a goal that went 3 yards wide.
Slaps in the face, are now acceptable.

I would have thought the VAR confirmed his decision. In the end he withdrew it after looking at it. Ffs.Why on earth did he give the red, BEFORE looking at the screen ??
