Good to see that in addition to Harry Kane starting again v WBA, Milos Veljkovic, Nabil Bentaleb and Harry Winks are on the bench (due to Walker Vertonghen Dawson Sandro Capoue Dembele Lamela and Soldado all out injured)

How old is Winks? I've never seen him play but assume he must be highly rated.

18 (dob 02.02.1996). Very good prospect as a CM, more of an attacking CM but covers a lot of ground and can tackle well too so can play almost as a DM if required.

Anyone see that pic (I know we cant post here) of Soldado, Naughton and Chadli (I think) with Veljkovic, Bentaleb and O'Gilvie. The youngsters look close good to see. We have such a good crop

We were comfortably the better side despite losing. As always really tidy on the ball and dominated possession but to be honest we didnt create that many great chances during the course of the game. Missed likes of Oduwa as we lacked that bit of quality in the final third.

Voss - good performance. Made a couple of big saves when United broke, particularly in a one on one situation in the first half. Very composed, always looks to pass out.

CCY - Poor performance at right back until subbed. Thought he stood out as the worst player in the team to be honest.

Maghoma - player quite well. Big strong centre back and looks a decent prospect. Not quite as comfortable on the ball as Carters Vickers but looks a very good player all the same.

CCV - Good performance. Think he is a huge prospect. So calm and comfortable on the ball. Impressed again.

Amos - Decent enough at left back. Didnt particularly stand out.

Walkes - Played really well in front of the back four and a big player for the team. Kept things ticking over and due to his size is a bit of a monster at U18 level. Good in the tackle and won the ball back a lot today, probably got a bit carried away with his pressing when closed down the United goal keeper in the build up to their goal. I think he will have a decent career but personally don't think he will make it for us, think he looks a good player at U18s due to his size.

Miller - started really well and looks a good player. Really tidy on the ball and plays well on the turn. First time I think ive seen him and looks a decent prospect.

Goddard - Similar to Miller really. Played quite well today and looks good on the ball.

KWP - Impressive again. Started on right hand side of the front three, then moved to left back at the start of the second half, then moved to his best position at right back for the last 15 mins or so. Stood out again and looks a really good player. Prefer him at right back personally and think he could have big future.

Georgiou - played quite well on the left. Good left foot and a decent turn of pace and looks to go on the outside of the full back. First time I can remember seeing him play, but looks a decent enough player.

Harrison - was impressed. Think he usually plays at U16 level and scored a shit load of goals? but looks a good player. Reminded me of Daniel Sturridge.

Was also impressed with the young sub Hayford in the short time he was on. One to keep an eye out for. Looks tidy on the ball, has a really good burst of pace about him over the first 5 yards. Played on the left but would of thought plays CM normally looking at him? Difficult to judge in 5 minutes! ha... but for some reason think he will be big talent.

Thanks man. Hadn't heard of Hayford, nice to see another u16 getting introduced. Shame about the result but not a major setback at least we played well

Thanks for the comments - good to see Harry Voss did well - he missed the early part of the season after an injury which needed surgery.

Luke Amos has been out for the past month with an an ankle injury so that's probably why he only played the first half. He's actually a midfield player but it's god he's getting experience in the team playing at full back.

Visited Carrington today to see the Spurs Youth take on their United counterparts. Extensive changes made to the training ground since my last visit (10 months ago) making it a very modern and picturesque site. Sat in a small stand (capacity about 200) near the centre line with the weather surprisingly cold.
Teams: United :- 1 Pereira (2nd Yr) :: 2 Riley (1st Yr) McConnell (2nd Yr) Ioannou (2nd Yr) Barber (2nd Yr) :: Goss (2nd Yr) Willock (2nd Yr) Thompson (1st Yr) :: Mitchell (1st Yr) Fletcher (2nd Yr) Coskery (1st Yr) ::: Subs :- Borthwick- Jackson (CB) (1st Yr), Henderson (GK) (1st Yr) , Evans (MF/FB) (2nd Yr) , Rashford (FW) (Associate schoolboy -a/s) , Kehinde (DF) (a/s)

SPURS; Harry Voss GK 1st Yr Confident/capable and good distributor of the ball
Channing Campbell-Young RB 1st Yr Had a nightmare game - confidence low and subbed at HT
Luke Amos LB 1st Yr a midfielder normally LB is not is position - lack pace and attacking flair
Cameron Carter-Vickers CB a/s Dominant and very strong physically but good on the deck
Christian Maghoma CB a/s tallest player on pitch - has good all round game
Anton Walkes DMF 1st Yr (Captain) Dominated in 1st half but tired and less effective in 2nd half
Cy Goddard CMF 1st yr Smallest player on pitch (looks about 12) very skilfull with good vision/engine
William Miller CMF 2nd Yr very impressive, runs well with the ball also good vision
Kyle Walker-Peters RMF 1st year (Played 3 positions thru game - RMF/RB/LB
Anthony Georgiou LW 1st Yr impressive at times always prepared to take on his marker
(are you watching Aaron Lennon!!!!)
Shayon Harrison FW 1st year - Did well though isolated at times with good close control - lucky to
not be sent off near end for punching a United DF after a bad tackle

SUBS : Lloyd Ross MF 1st Yr on for Amos at HT very promising player
Charlie Hayford MF a/s on for Goddard 78min - nice cameo looked good on the ball
Daniel Akindayini FW 2nd Yr on for Campbell- Young - disappointing

A vastly more experienced United outfit (with 7 2nd year players in starting line up) really struggled against a Spurs side that bossed possession for most of the game. Given we were missing McGEE, OGILVIE, VINCENT-YOUNG, ONOMAH, WINKS, SONUPE, ODUWA, LESNIAK and potentially VELJKOVIC this very young Spurs outfit did themselves proud. Quite frankly I was very disappointed in the United team given the huge resources and pulling power of the club. At times the style of play of the Spurs was light years ahead of the United youngsters. On the adjacent pitch SPURS u16 defeated United 2-0. Stand out players for me - the 2 CB's Cameron-Vickers & Maghoma with Miller (the best I think), Walkes, Goddard & Georgiou.

Wham in second place also lost today so we remain 6 points ahead of Wham with a game in hand over them. However Fulham in 3rd place did not play so they remain 8 points behind us but have a game in hand on us.

Spurs u18's now have 4 games left to play and must be favourites to be in the playoffs at least

Who is the little dude with the Afro? Saw him play for the victory shield side and he looked a class above for his age. Can't remember his name so haven't been following him

Fucking hell- that's what I call dedication. I'll admit it- I probably would never go to watch an U-21/U-18 game but I admire fans a lot who take their time out to watch them!

It makes me chuckle how many Harrys we've had since Harry Redknapp.

Voss, Kane, Winks...are there any more?
