Spurs possible European qualifying for 22/23 season

As this might get pretty complicated with a 3rd competition and possibility of teams outside places winning competitions I thought it’s worth a thread as likely to impact us.Things I’m uncertain about;

- Is it still 7 teams maximum
- If United win CL and outside top 4 that means 5 in CL, so does Confrence have no team.
- As above if West Ham win Europa
- And again if Leicester win Confrence they go in to Europa. So are there 3 in Europa or the FA cup spot gets dropped

Fair to say it’s a minefield.

If we're keeping Conte, I hope we don't qualify for Europe. His record when his teams play twice in one week is frankly dreadful, we'd be better off having the extra time to prepare for league games.

Had to read last 2 paragraphs about 10 times ? doesn’t actually make sense as they 7 teams but their scenario would be 8 teams and that doesn’t even address Leicester winning the Confrence. Be bloody funny if Arsenal come 4th United win CL and West Ham win EL, 4th then wouldn’t get CL. I have no doubt this thread will be full of confusion even more so that most seasons.

Finishing 8th will be best for this club, some temporary pain for long term gain is needed.

We have been hopeless in the Europa competitions since we entered it back in mid/late 00s. The best Spurs have managed is 2 quarter final appearances in numerous attempts which is terrible and its mainly because Spurs have had a lot of big time charlies in the squad. Too many times a lot of our players past and present have not shown the competitions the respect they deserve.

I'd personally hate to be in the ECL again. Our campaign was absolutely pointless with a tough night in Rennes followed by a horror show at Mura only to be disqualified. We were one of the biggest scalps so everyone just raised their games and completely clattered us at every opportunity.

Also for fan experience that competition is a joke, games on when people are still at work, stadium power cuts, TV coverage dropping in and out. The competitions infrastructure made it impossible to enjoy any of those games.

100% we have to be in at least the Europa League.

To stay used to playing in Europe, exposure, revenue etc….

Add to that if we’re going to sign a few more young, hungry promising players they need game time to.

Define dreadful? Is it 3 title wins, a second place finish, plus a European runner up, semi finalist, and a quarter finalist when he has competed in Europe. Is that your definition? Or you’re just cherry picking his second Chelsea season where he finished 5th and this season with Spurs, coming half way through and struggled competing on three/four fronts just like long before he arrived we have.

It’s fine not to want European football next season for reasons, based on our club and squad depth, but don’t spout nonsense of his record to back your reason, because it simply isn’t true.

Those that don’t want to be in a European competition next season, don’t complain if we reach one season after next, that we are playing multiple qualifying games from July due to this seasons performance and the lack of next seasons, and impact it has on our European coefficient points.

Isn't there less matches in the EL now since the ECL was started ?

But you can see us winning the Champions League or do you want us to avoid Champions League as well? What about the league title? Should we try to get relegated since we haven't been close to winning it? I'm trying to wrap my head around your thinking here.

The only competition I want to avoid is the ECL. EL and CL (obviously) would be great.
