I still get the complaint, when I leap off the sofa screaming 'Keano! Keano!!' etc., that she's had to put up with noisy kids all day and could do without me going mental, but, basically, I win.
You just have to be open and honest. 'Look, on certain days of the year I am going to be going absolutely mental one way or the other. Totally euphoric, or deep depression. Can you cope with that? Particularly the deep depression bit?'
If she says yes, you know you're on to a winner. If she says no, you know what to do.
