Should we call our academy strikers to the first team?

It is now obvious Soldado is not suited to the way we play and has no confidence and Adebayor is being left out in the cold. So why not start calling up our academy players they could not do any worse.

What's more is their is several other first team squad players who position could be in trouble. If we do not clear out most the rubbish we bought in the last two summers we will not be able to sign anyone.

I'd take Obika over Soldado any day of the week.

Defended him for far too long. Can't wait for him to leave the club.

A player I shall forget VERY easily.

'Not suited to the way we play' is an unbelievable statement.

He has been put clean through 2 v 1 and missed. That is nothing to do with the way we play, that is incompetence of the highest order. Burnely, missing from 1 yard. That again is nothing to do with the way we play.

I have given him time, but today was a total joke and unacceptable. He is clearly shot to pieces mentally. He needs to do the right thing and make himself unavailable for selection. And I don't want to see Adebayor back either. Stick Shayon Harrison on the subs bench or call back Oduwa. They cannot be worse infront of goal that Soldado or try less than Adebayor.

No, we should be playing Adebayor in games where we want to rest Kane. Would only need to promote a youth striker if both Kane and Adebayor are out. Soldado, obviously, should never pull on our shirt again under any circumstances.

It's obvious that Ade is finished with us or he would have been involved today.

We don't really have any strikers in the u21 ready to make the step up. The nearest is probably Coulthirst who can't even get a start for league 1 Southend so doubt he would make any impact.

It's just crazy that we have 2 big name strikers in Soldado and Adebauor who are absolutely useless. We'd be completely in the shit without Kane's purple patch in the last few months.

That might be true, but it doesn't mean I don't think it's the right decision. I think Adebayor is a valuable resource and that we should be using him, at least until we get the chance to improve our options in the summer.

Yeah what have we got to lose?

Quite a lot.

None of our U21 or U18 strikers are anywhere near ready to play for a team trying to qualify for the Champions League. And as spurs9 said, putting them in the team before they're ready could actually set them back.

If, hypothetically, it was decided that neither Soldado nor Adebayor would play for Spurs again, we'd be better off using Chadli as back up striker to Kane.

Obika left the club in the summer.

I agree, as bad as Ade is at shooting he can at least hold the ball up and bring others into play. Soldado is like playing with 10 men can't finish his dinner even when being spoon fed.

The one thing we're really lacking at youth level is strikers funnily enough. Bit short on CB's too.

We're pretty loaded at centre back, actually.

Cameron Carter Vickers and Christian Maghoma in the U18's. And, of the U21's, we have Milos Veljokovic and Dominic Ball out on loan. Veljkovic, especially, could do a job for us right now if needed (and if he wasn't on loan and injured !).
