A few times their right winger had the ball on the attack and Udogie ran up to him and took the ball off him just like one might dispossess a child.

Our goal scorers were our captain and two vice captains. Credit to our vice captains but I will give it to our Captain who scored a hattrick while returning to the player we know he can be, without the aide of of our former Captain who has gone to Bayern Munich
Mate...

Lloris did not go to Bayern.

Sons goals should make him MOTM but without Maddison he probably wouldn't have scored them and I make him MOTM. He's what makes this side tick and I believe he has brought out the best in the players around him and they have raised their game 100%. To me he is the best signing this club has made for years probably since Son. When you think what we paid for Ndombele Madders was a snip. Still it's about time we got one right.

One of the toughest MOTM selections I can recall.

Son a quality hatrick
Maddison almost unplayable
Romero was outstanding
Udogie brilliant
Bissouma controlled the midfield

Any of these would be worthy MOTM and on top Porro, Vicario and Solomon put in top performances.

I choked and went for team effort.

I’d give a shout to Porro. His defensive side has been well highlighted, but his attacking game is exceptional. His passing today was excellent.
He and Udogie look really exciting.

Was so close to giving it to Udogie and then was disappointed to see he only had 2 votes?! Absolutely sensational today.

Son just got my vote though as the match winner and hattrick hero.

Been away in the US for 15 years. Man, it’s nice to be back. I’ve got my Palmers Green back, and we’ve got our Tottenham back. Just watched the game back too:

Vicario - 8.5. That save off the deflection was outrageous, and he knew it. Terrific on the ball too. His confidence is visibly blossoming.

Steve-O - 8. The ball for the Son hat-trick was absolutely wonderful, and there was so much more to like going forward. Decent defensively, although he got exposed against that Italian winger a couple of times.
Romero - 9. Such a player. Beautifully taken goal, dominant in the air, confident on the ball. Bonus half point for every game he doesn’t get booked.
Van Der Ven - 8.5. Again, so comfortable on the ball and complements Romero so very well.
Udogie - 9.5. He’s just…incredible.

Sarr - 7.5. Integral part of that midfield, relatively quiet today but I suspect he bought Bissouma more freedom.
Bissouma - 9. Absolutely everywhere, and so good at the beginning of the second half.
Maddison - 9. Don’t think I need to say more. So often in the right place, so often with the right decisions, and an immaculate finish.

Kulusevski - 7.5. Heavily involved throughout, and some strong play. He’s such a clever footballer, but Goddamn he needs to use that right foot more, and in a lot of situations you cannot help but wonder what a quick player with quick feet (and a right foot) might achieve there.
Solomon - 8. After a shaky start, this was exactly what I’d hoped he’d bring. Pace, intelligence, and a willingness to run and run.
Son - 9. On the TV they were saying he’d been quiet…but he harried and harassed them throughout. And then…the finishing. Just a class act.

Subs all did what they’re supposed to.

Overall I was very impressed. We mustn’t get carried away as it hasn’t been as tough a start as - say - Newcastle’s. But that’s three away games out of the way now with 7pts banked. And hey, if we put the money saved this window into a high-yield account, maybe we’ll be able to afford the £200M Ferguson will cost in a couple of years.

Great stuff. We're wondering now how far this team can go. Looking forward to the 'Pool match to find out.
We're basically unpressable it appears. Well, so far. So many high marks. Udogie (8) was super effective in attack and defence a real step up. Mads(9) was off the charts good. Biss (7.5) not quite at his peak for me, wonder if he feels most comfortable playing at home, good game tho.

Sarr(7.5) was everywhere . Soloman(7.5) looking better and productive with assists. Romero(8) dominant. Kulu(7) got better maybe he's coming back to form after so long...and Son (8) Maybe people were right and as a central attacker he can be effective. Porro(8) getting better and better.

Anyway, a great day, we don't know the team's ceiling which is exciting, wish we had a big test now. Maybe we are going to stay in the top 4 this season. The absolute quality we see does make me wonder just why we had to throw the Fulham match. This team really looks like it could win something and the EFL was one half of our chances to do so this season.

Awarded it to Son
as a welcome back present.
Even these days hat-tricks are rare
and usually match winners
as it proved.
Tougher tests to come no doubt
but we are getting ourselves into a winning mode
playing the Spurs DNA way.
Lovin' it.

Couple of things from this. On the one hand, I was incredibly excited by the team’s play yesterday. But on the other hand, I really want to pump the brakes a bit. And not just to avoid the kind of lurching from agony to ecstasy we’ve seen over the last week. It’s not healthy 😃

It was an excellent performance…but it was Burnley. We’ve played three decent sides so far, and two away from home, and we’ve looked as good as I could possibly hope for. I just think that there are so many things that will probably hold us back. After the international break (and hopefully no injuries) we have Sheffield United…and then a million local derbies plus Liverpool at home. We already know that three of our best players will be missing in January. And a couple of positions are still looking a bit thin.

We’re going to let in a few goals against good sides. Although it feels like we’re ahead of schedule, teams like Brighton and Villa are a year or more ahead of us in the cycle. West Ham are going to be a pain - sort or Mourinhoing their way to results like their one against Brighton. We have a ton of local derbies in comparison to Newcastle, Brighton or even Liverpool.

That said, not having Europe this season is an effing boon. I’m also not all that fussed about the Fulham game. Annoying, sure, but I’m considering this a transitional season anyway. Like everyone who’s ever come vaguely near him, I have faith in Ange, and that was clearly the sort of decision made with an eye on the long term and bigger picture. He really hasn’t had a lot of time to work with the players relative to every single other manager in the League, and he will have learnt a decent amount.

Onwards and upwards.

Sarr and Bissouma. Who is the third?
