I'm more curious what their source is. All refs at the top level declare what club(s) they support. They'd basically be accusing Attwell of lying to PGMOL which is a huge accusation.

Think I saw something linking him with Luton in 2010 so assume he had declared it.
As I say, if Webb knew he is an absolute fool for not erring on the side of caution and moving Atwell to Palace or Villa games.

It's clear there's issues with the officiating generally but we can't have clubs selecting which refs they will and won't accept.

Away from that hilariously childish club statement, I'd be quite happy if we just did away with VAR next season because it's clear we can't use it properly in this country.

I think England need to find a spot for him in the XI. Maybe he is a defensive liability, but games can be won with set pieces and he is among the best.

Maybe as a M with Rice and Bellingham.

But I also have to say I think Atwell is utterly useless and would’ve made the same call in a different game today. However that is down to poor officiating, this has possibly made it into a bigger issue of PGMOL’s own making.

Eze 8 goals 3 assists in 20 starts 3 subs, and Mateta 9 goals and 4 assists in 20 starts and 10 subs. Those are good numbers, but just using the eye test Olise and Eze are better than what we have

I just found that article. It's really poor from PGMOL. You have nothing to gain and everything to lose by assigning Attwell to this match. You could have used any other VAR.

Why is the focus on the VAR, surely it should be on the ref that failed to award any of the decisions.

They are but with their injury records I would stay well away especially at the prices being quoted.
