That's the barcodes out of the race for the top 4 ? And Manager off in the summer ? Perhaps Poch to replace him ?
Newcastle haven’t been in the race for 4th for months tbh. Even since the injuries started to ease a bit they’ve struggled for any consistency. I think Howe and Poch probably both have the rest of this season to save their jobs, but if Newcastle finish outside the top 8 he’ll be gone.

Think Newcastle should stick with Howe, look at Arteta for an example.

Had huge injury issues, and the club spunked £55m on Tonali without doing their due dilligence. The club, not Howe, need to be cleverer in the transfer market

I think 90% of people agree with this. Whether or not the Saudi owners do remains to be seen. Not sure who they would target as a replacement though - surely they’re not daft enough to go the Mourinho route.

From a footballing perspective Mourinho might not make much sense, but from a brand perspective maybe he does. He’s still one of the most well known and followed managers in the world, and there’s some value to that for a club looking to build like Newcastle. Even at Roma he was making headlines.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I think they should go for him, but I can see some possible arguments in favour of it.

Whatever they do I hope they fuck it right up.

It would be a great way for them to increase eyeballs on them. That would likely see their sponsorship revenue go up. But you’d have to counter that against his wages. But I expect the boost in exposure would have a longer term effect that will help them.

That being said, I think they’ll stick with Beheaddie Howe. He toes the part line re the human rights stuff, he plays nice football, and he’s a decent if not spectacular coach. Much like Mark Hughes in the early days at City, he’ll do until they raise the clubs profile enough to attract the top managers.

I actually really like Eddie Howe and think they were very unfortunate with injuries (like the rest of us). When they're on form they're a thrilling side to watch. Wouldn't totally be against him managing England in the future.

Oh that's nice. Apparently the Bournemouth fans set up a Just Giving page to raise money to pay for coaches for the Luton fans for this rearranged match. They raised twice as much as they intended to and paid for every coach.

I don't know what's happened to Bournemouth. They were shite at the start of the season then it seemed like Iraola was getting a song out of them for a few months but their form has been awful in 2024 - 1 win, 4 draws and 3 losses (4 including tonight). Solanke has only scored twice in that period which probably doesn't help. I guess it was a purple patch after all.
