Thought they'd issued a statement saying those armpit offsides weren't going to be looked at any more?

Next season. Not immediately, which is, er, strange.

It'll be because other teams have had the offside armpits so if they introduced it now other teams will gain an advantage with it not being offside from now. Can't have teams having goals ruled out for it and some not.

True, if it's officially the protocol. However, there has already been a shift in how they treat penalties. Before none were being overruled and now at least a few have. Just have to accept this season will be a mess and hope for better next year.

While I don't think that's a penalty, what's frustrating is that Liverpool WOULD have been awarded one like that.

Good point.

But they have definitely said the rule will be relaxed in some way or other.

The thing is how can you relax a decision like that. You draw the shitty lines and if its offside it is offside... you cant just say oh its 1mm off so we allow it because then 1mm becomes 2 then 3 and so on..

Just one of those things I guess

How in the name of fuck can Salah claim that was a penalty, he was muscled off the ball fairly. Fucking prick.

I think it was more they won't draw the shitty lines any more, or allow for a greater margin of error than they currently have.

Tight marginal calls won't go away, far from it, but it seems that the attacker is punished every single time the way things are now.

Salah is such a weird player. There’s so many times in a game where you would think he’s a shit player with no weak foot and then he scores a good goal

If the ref plays an advantage and you waste that advantage then that’s you’re own problem, good reffing not being swayed by the whinging whining ‘best fans in the world’
