I watched the Schalke game again this morning and really hope Pochettino gets our guys watching back videos of the game and telling them to look to switch play.

Danny Rose made 4 great runs in the first half and was completely wide open on many occasions and our players showed tunnel vision playing straight balls trying to slip a forward in when that area was congested...

Lamella, Eriksen and Bentaleb all guilty!!

This is so frustrating to watch...

or it could be that their vision was working perfectly and saw that it was Rose ?

To be fair to Rose (I'm not his biggest fan), I did notice him making these runs forward. The way we're set up, with inverted wingers, is to drag the opposing full backs in. Our full backs need to exploit this space and when they do, our midfielders need to distribute to them to get that into the box. Hate to bring up Le Arse, but against Man City this is exactly what they were doing with Debuchy. I don't think Debuchy is a worldie, but he is good at getting forward and trying to whip balls into the box into that dangerous channel between the defenders and the keeper. Arsenal, and many other teams, score shitloads of goals from this very simple tactic. We seem to rarely ever use it. It frustrates me a lot as it's one of the simplest ways to score in football.

Why do you think we were allegedly interested in Cambiasso? The problem is we replaced a star player (Modric) with a very mediocre player (Dembele) and haven't recovered since.

i suspect that Poch has got Rose working some clever runs and angles, the rest of the team are just unaware this is actually possible..

This. I'd sooner pass out than pass to Rose. I lost count of the number of moves that broke down last season due to Rose thinking he had the ability to beat a defender, only to inevitably be dispossessed.

But it is common knowledge that Danny Rose is shit and that Eriksen and Lamela - and Bentelab now that Tim has gone and he can no longer be used as a stick to beat him with - are awesome.

So let's use this thread as an excuse for more cheap shots at Danny Rose, the tosser.

I saw that but that wasn't a lack of vision since Lamela did see him and open himself up to towards the left, however the issue was composure. The players dwelled on the player far too long that, the avenue then closed and had to rethink

This is why I like Soldado he moves the ball quickly

Less a problem of finding players with vision, more an issue of making them the focal point.
