Crazy thought if he comes good this season. We will have a whole new midfield, Hojbjerg and TND with a champions league run in midfield (Winks and Sissoko) as back up.

(Lo celso for my point is ignored)

I think hojberg and winks will be jose's preferred choice in midfield two with dele operating behind kane ...
I think that's how we'll line up tomorrow, but it will be interesting who he ends up pairing with Hojbjerg long term as Ndombele and Lo Celso offer a lot more offensively than Winks does.

Ndombele will definitely get some starts in the cups over the coming weeks so that will be his opportunity to really prove his fitness and stake a claim for that position in the first team. Can't wait to see him play again.

Looking forwards to the outrage when he’s on the bench tomorrow

He'll start at least 2 games in the next fortnight I suspect so it doesn't really matter. I don't think he is fit enough to start matches anyway but could well feature at some point, if as I suspect, it is a dull close game tomorrow.

I imagine he will be on the bench having only played 45 minutes of preseason. More likely he will get some minutes under his belt in the second half and possibly start Thursday.

Can someone sum up what's gone on with N'dombele? The ITK seems to have completely changed from earlier in the window and I guess I must have missed something

Being cynical, no-one was prepared to meet our asking price so he’s decided to put a brave face on and as he wants to be in the French squad next summer.

Or, if you prefer, the ghosts of Bill Nich and Danny Blanchflower visited him one night to help him realise what an opportunity he has - and how great he can be if he just gets on with things.

I'm thinking the Ndombele negative attitude accusations for the last several weeks were likely a mix of guesswork and exaggeration [a culmination of his "weight", injury, supposed positive COVID-19 test, and the Mourinho rift rumors]. Then Tanguy suddenly started in our friendly and Mourinho made positive comments about him and the rumblings on here suddenly became more and more positive..

I mean I totally get it if it was just press rumours but the ITK matched the rumours.

The ITK suggested that no one was willing to pay any more than £25m or so, and we weren't willing to sell him half price, so he needs to knuckle down. Everyone has agreed that's the best outcome for now.

Any idea what the shitty attitude was about in the first place? He seemed like a very physically capable player before joining us. Move to London, big wages, playing in the Prem, with a club who clearly valued him hugely, two top name managers to work under. I mean he had every reason to be up for it even if the team was really struggling.
