Amazing how few seem to see this. He tweaked his groin against Sheffield United overextending himself in a challenge, we then stupidly allowed him to go off on international duty, he clearly wasn’t 100% over it and the manager publicly pressures him into playing twice in 48 hours, and somehow it’s all his fault! He’s been grossly mismanaged and yet he’s catching flak for it. Unbelievable really.
Absolutely.

just easier to blame the player though I suppose

I think that’s where the issue started he declared himself fit for France and the club seem to have rightly got annoyed

It’s as if he would play for France through the pain barrier etc but not for us
He didn’t actually play for France though, but he did go and train and didn’t receive rehab during that initial phase of the injury. Who knows what happened behind the scenes but for me it falls to the club for having allowed him to go even though he had to be subbed at half time in the match before. United or Liverpool never would have sent him away under the circumstances.

Regardless, I think the fact that he gave it a go for France and that he was willing to play two matches within 48 hours shows he’s not actually a “pussy” or a “sick note” as has been claimed by the knee jerkers in this thread, he’s got a groin injury which are notoriously tricky to recover from and the club/manager are woefully mis-handling it.

He has no future at this club, sadly. Mourinho says so in so many words.

Yes, by saying 3 days ago that he was phenomenal at 2 different interviews or today "We are full of hopes and this is since the beginning of the season"

He’s not made of glass or injury prone ffs played 96 times for Lyon over two seasons.

He had pull himself out the Brighton gam because he didn’t fill fully comfortable despite our god awful medical staff saying otherwise.

Then mourinho goes to the media putting pressure on him to play and then one game later he’s re injured the same injury.

Stop blaming the player and point fingers at the manager and medical staff.
Haha! Not quite I’m afraid, it was the same with the previous management and medical staff, you only had to read into Poch’s angry reaction at a question about Ndombele “coming on and doing well” to know the problem is with the player. We’ve been sold a fish.

I wasn't sure about him playing so soon after the last game. He's not used to our schedule let alone the physicality of our league. We should have started Winks in hindsight but of course we dont have that. Hopefully a week and half rest and he'll be ok. He needs those weeks of weekend only games to work up his fitness. Otherwise may even need the February break.

I've said it since his first game. Always looks like he is wincing or some minor pain. Something is not right

What about the different management? Was Poch throwing him under a bus as well someone else’s fault?

That game he pulled out of against Brighton, you know he took part in a full on training session on the pitch afterwards? Was that unfair on the poor boy as well?

Some people need to wake up and pull their fucking heads out the sand, the bloke is two stone overweight and a fucking disgrace currently.

It wasn’t a full training session it was a light one.

some people need to get their fucking heads out the sand and start looking at the bigger picture than simply blaming the easy thing in the player

Blaming the player isn’t the easy option when you're not overly fond of the manager believe me, we’d all rather be out buying replica shirts for our kids with our record signings name on the back. Wouldn’t wash the car with one currently though.

I don't know what is expected of them in the French league, or if he just massively let himself go in the summer, but whatever the case he's clearly got the core fitness and conditioning of a player closer to Pub League standard than Premier League.

When that's the case, his body just simply aint going to hack it. I'd be fairly confident just training at the sort of intensity needed to be ready for games is ruining him, so you then get the "not sure I can play this week......." stuff occurring. Plus he'll be very susceptible to injuries as his muscles get wrecked attempting to keep up with the demands day in, day out. And when he keeps breaking down and is so knackered, it's just constant steps back in trying to catch up to the required level, no matter how many months it's been now.

We've all seen glimpses of the talent, until he gets fit it's meaningless. Needs to forget about football for a bit and just work purely on core fitness and conditioning.

I get where the frustration is coming from. Ndombele is our record signing and it’s been clear from the moment he joined the club that he needs to up his fitness levels. That’s a shame, but if he were a perfect player he’d have been joining Real Madrid rather than Spurs this past summer.

It can simultaneously be true that Ndombele can be fairly called into question for his fitness in general and that pressuring him to play through his groin strain in specific is wrongheaded mismanagement. He didn’t suffer the injury as a result of unacceptable fitness in general, it came from overextending himself in a challenge.

Winks and Sissoko both suffered nearly identical injuries last season, and Winks needed surgery to recover. It could have happened to any player, but having happened, now needs to be managed carefully because of the tricky nature of it. That’s not some moral failing on the part of Ndombele, just the unfortunate reality of the situation, and pressuring him and publicly demeaning him isn’t helping matters in the least.
