Loved his interaction with Sarr. Showed a bit of a harder side and gave him a good telling off for not playing him in. Sarr looked like he had let his big brother who he admires down and hugged him a bit with an apology.
Sonny and Sarr are the new Dele and Dier

Another one to add to the tally - fair play my Son. Fair play.

What particularly stood out for me watching the replays is his celebration. He could have streamed over to the fans and basked in the glory of having put the ball in. Revel in being the hero.

But no. He paused, pointed to Johnson and pulled him alongside to share the glory. The kind of stuff that can motivate a young player and drive him on to better things.

Captain material through and through.

Something Ronaldo has never done in his life, even if the assister had dribbled an entire team and passed it for him to tap in, you know Ronaldo would run the length of the pitch celebrating like he scored a goal like Maradona against England in '86.

Sonny has taken the captain armband seriously. He leads by example and vocally. Most importantly, he has complete respect of everyone on the team. I think he embodies what Ange club culture is all about. Determination, respect, collaboration, freedom of expression, and accountability.

This is the most ‘together’ team we’ve had since the 2015/2017 period. That is all about culture.

I've just had the realisation that Sonny is 32 next year. He's obviously taken extremely good care of himself but there can't be many more years left playing at the very top level. That's really sad, one of our all time greats.

Switching to the middle can really prolong his career though, could be two more years at very good level.

On another note his nagging injury seems to be healing better than I expected; seeing him playing 2 games last week with no noticeable pain.

Hopefully he can score another 56 goals with us and become our 3rd all time top scorer.

Didn't South Korea just lop two years off that recently?
