I think the game against Burnley really highlighted how much more effective (and confident) Son is through the middle as opposed to out wide.

Clearly a great figurehead for the club post Kane but we do also need to look at succession planning.

Already seems to be growing into a better player.
I noticed against Wales yesterday he made a lot more subtle little lay offs with good weight and appreciation of where the receiving player was coming from and going. Something that Son has never been great at.

Nice to see great players can still learn from new coaches...

Would be delighted if he stayed for many more years to come, even if the latter years was more of a bit part role. I would love it (keegan style) if he won a trophy with us before he leaves.

Seems strange seeing he is will be 33 at if the end of his current contract. You assume there might be quite a big drop once his pace goes considering that is one of his key assets.
Not much harm extending by a year now. If he has a great season then he’s only got a year left and he has all the cards. Plus, he‘s a world class player who has given his best years to us and has recently been made captain. Giving a little something back would be the right thing to do.

He never had blistering pace. His 3 goals at the weekend were about intelligence and composure.

He never had blistering pace? Are you kidding, I’ve not seen too many players run at speed like him with the ball. See the Burnley goal when he ran the pitch a few years back!!

I never said that he didn't have any pace, I was just pointing out that he didn't need it to score most of his goals. He has an ability to create his own space and shooting angles. He also knows how to find space and lose defenders, so teammates can have an option to find him.
Also although the Burnley goal was a great one, their defence parted like the Red Sea. I remember Hoddle scoring against Oxford from his own half in his last home game and their defence did a similar thing.
Any way up, we both love Sonny and Tottenham, so let's enjoy the ride. COYS.

Not to mention the marketing advantages having him with us until he retires and then becomes 'father' to our youngsters on the training ground.

I think in Veliz, Soonsup-Bell an Lankshear we big potential coming through.
That's not including Scarlett.

Maybe the new contract is to ward off the Saudis coming back in for him next summer. I know he said he wouldn’t go but you never know in a year or twos time. Plus the club might just want to reward him now he’s captain and bump him up to what Kane was on.
