Son is an enigma player for me. What I see is a player who runs bloody quick and scores some great and many goals. Beyond that, I see a player who doesn't offer enough defensive work, a player who has limited ability in creative passing & generally a player who goes missing a lot in games. In essence, if you stop him from having space to run into, you nullify his threat.

He’s definitely drained. He needs a decent summer break to prep for next term. Thankfully no Euros for him so hopefully he gets it.

I thought it was a turning point when Hugo shouted at Son last season. The whole team seemed to respect it and they started pulling in the same direction. I thought the Mourinho effect was working. Now we are back to players strolling around, no pressing and letting players walk past them.

This is what we really need and would benefit from.

Since Wanyama declined after his only prime season, we have been crying out for a hard as nails proper bread and butter holding midfielder.

They also need to bollock players like Son who is a conundrum as even though he has scored an incredible amount of goals, I couldn’t honestly say he’s had a very good season and has gone missing far too often.

Very very strange.

I have issue that he is NEVER subbed.

It’s always the same players who are exchanged, no matter who is playing better.

Same with Kane really, you just shouldn’t have a situation where some players always play the full 90 minutes.

Sends out the wrong message.

he's been a great player for us but i would sell for the right price. maybe he has a couple of peak years left in him but what use are they when we're likely heading towards a transition period without kane anyway. we've previously been guilty of hanging onto players too long and seeing their value plummet leaving us unable to reinvest appropriately, it made sense to some degree back then but this squad needs a complete overhaul now and we need all the funds we can get.

Son having fully committed to a new deal (papers signed, etc.) & the club waiting to announce it “until a more marketable time” is completely bull shit IMO.

There’s never been a more “marketable” time to announce one of the club’s core players has committed his future here. The club is in the shitter at the moment and the fans are hanging on to any form of positive news.

I don’t think he’s signed, and I don’t see him doing so now that the club’s poster boy reportedly wants out.

I'm taking a lot of Dragon1's info with a grain of salt based on his managerial postings and now this Son deal.

I like your idea but I'm not sure if I or the club has this kind of courage. The downfall might be too big.
Kane has 22 goals and 13 assists, and Son 17 goals and 11 assists. These are truly outstanding numbers.
Together they reprsent 70% of end-product from this team.
Without them I'm not sure we would even be a mid-table team; we might be looking at the edge of relegation.

This is a harsh truth that I’ve been coming to this season, especially as Son has had more of those inexplicable matches when he has no first touch and barely gets involved (yesterday). He’s still an exceptional forward but will not have his pace forever and isn’t the most consistent.

On the other hand, if we got £65m for him who’s to say that won’t go directly to young talents at LW like.. the £65m combined for Bergwijn and Sessegnon. Not trusting your scouting is a really shit position to be in for a rebuild, that’s for sure.

He's picked up two injuries this season. Two leg injuries to be precise. That's the first time since he came here. Second time in his entire career. Perhaps a sign of him getting old? It's not like this season was any tougher for him than the last few seasons where he had to travel to the other side of the globe multiple times. Yet he's had two muscle injuries and that's worrying. We can't afford another unlucky player who's on 200k plus a week.

I love the bloke, but he would get absolute pelters at one of the elite clubs. On his day he is unplayable, but he has games (often stretches of games) where his technique completely disappears and he looks like his boots are on the wrong feet. This happens far too often to fly at a top tier club, where there is someone as talented as you ready to take your place and the fans are unforgiving

yeah he's a nailed on starter here but he could get a gig at a bigger club and be successful.
