Out of our current options, there are some approaches we could take...

- Dele as the central striker with Bergwijn and Lucas on the wing. I worry about Dele’s ability to hold up the ball but his off the ball movement would be useful.

- Lamela as a false 9. Like Firmino at Liverpool, Lamela could take up that berth. With his aggression, physicality, and link up play, he could do well in this role. He was once the heir apparent to Totti at Roma in a similar position.

- Play Parrott. Mourinho has reiterated today that he doesn’t think the Irishman is ready, so this is probably the least likely option.

- Play a free-flowing front 3/4, with no central player, instead utilising a continually rotational attack. To an extent, it’s how we approached the Villa match, albeit with Son in attack. I think Sessegnon could be a very important player for us, not only in this system but in all our potential attacking options, considering his innate offensive instincts.

Both Son & Kane have incredible work ethic. Both will do whatever it takes to come back sooner. We just have to hang on, keep the season and result momentum going somehow. Jose wants 2m bonus - he is going to earn it now.

And all our opponents are laughing their tits off.

Them laughing is actually funny to me.
Son getting injured isnt going to make them any better.

Batshuayi is not going to know how to stay onside or how to score...
In case of Everton - their next 7 fixtures - Arsenal, United, Chelsea, City,Norwich, Leicester, Spurs

Everyone has their own set of problems. For us, challenge is to get best out of everyone. Because , we know that if that happens we will finish in top4.

He should demand to add a 0 to that if he keeps this season rattling along in all comps until they're back.

I'm surprised by the skepticism in this thread. this is a significant problem without any doubt but is it a problem with no solution?

Looking back at the last several games, the sheer number of solid opportunities to score and have been numerous. we're just flubbing our lines. the mobile, fluid, fast counter attacking play has really created far more goal scoring opportunities than what we suffered through at the beginning of the season. No need to sugarcoat it. Our finishing is a massive problem and that is a huge worry. but if that is corrected, son will be missed, but it's not the end of the season. I suspect that Jose will attempt to create an attack that will have less focus on an individual player and depend on goal scoring by committee.

the one additional thing that is concerning, is the probable lack of rotation up front. however, out of the last 8 games when legs are heaviest, the only top 10 teams are Leicester at home (3), Sheffield away (6) and A****** home (10). so they will be able to be platooned.

So silverware and top 4 is still in play. It's just going to require more team "work" than before.

That's a lot of injuries you talk about.

The squads fairly balanced we have coped without Kane Lloris and others as we've done many times before. Son being out will again force the squad to step up once more Sessengnon maybe Moura Bergwijn Alli Lamela.

Still ridiculous we don’t have another centre forward and we only have ourselves to blame as had two summers to rectify that.

I'm not sure what tier they are, but someone on Twitter called Annie is claiming this is fake news and that he'll start in the champions League

Which 3 will step up? Lamela bergwijn Dele lucas Parrott

Forget Lamela.

What concerns me as much as Son and Kane being out is the strain it will put on the others, especially if we stay in at least one other cup competition.

These injuries seem to compound the problems, the likes of Moura and Dele have had little rest and it wouldn’t surprise me if they got injured before too long.

Messi broke the radial bone in his arm in 2018. Quite a bad fall and his arm was bent back
How long was he out........3 WEEKS.
Not sure how much different Sonny’s injury is to Messi’s but out for the season seems a bit over the top.

But Messi isnt human

Cosmic news. Seems this season is only about if we can limp into 4/5th

Next time anyone here - during a transfer window - feels like writing about a transfer deal you’ve been Levy’d with happy emojis....well, you know...don’t... just don’t
