Yes we have played our cards badly on Eriksen

But the difference is that nobody has really shown a concrete interest and the player himself has said he'd sign a new contract if not. I'd be happy to take, say, £40m for him right now to cut our losses and move on. Any less and we'd be better off keeping him on his relatively cheap deal and hitting the ground running. Fulham have apparently refused to face the fact that the player wants to leave, has agreed his destination, will absolutely not sign a new deal and will go for peanuts in 9 months
