So possibly we could try playing a slightly different way, a way that best suits the players we do have available? Contentious, I know…

You know what, I’d prefer not to. I’d prefer to get our players used to a style that we will playing all the time under Ange. Then we work as a whole club to remove those that cant play that way. We have both Bissouma and Sarr coming back who know how to play that way and hopefully GLC soon aswell who is also capable.

This will then limit both PEH and Skipp to sub minutes only which is the way it needs to be in my opinion.

That’s basically what Trix said when I wanted Conte out. Then he put me on ignore, then we told Conte to fuck off. There’s a saying about people who ignore history…

Better still just drop him like before. He's limited and so are we when he's on the pitch. If we're gonna accommodate him we need to line up in a 1-10-0 formation on the edge of our box and just lump the ball to their goal keeper

There is a difference though. Everyone and their dog could see that the tactics employed by Conte were archaic.

At the start of this season we were unstoppable with the right players playing in the right system so we know it can work. Being honest the Conte system never really worked and I have no idea how it ever would have.

I believe this situation is totally different in that we have seen the results infront of our very eyes and that it can yield positive results week in, week out. There is an answer to the current issue, and that answer is to replace those players who are incapable of playing his way, sign a few players that can and we will, hopefully, be better off when we have players out.

We'll be miles better when sarr and Maddison are fit and starting fully again. We lose too much energy without Sarr and quality without Madison. Bentancur is never gonna cover the pitch like Sarr we gain from his composure and assuredness in front of the back four.

Get the players fit and we'll be on the edge of there box in the 90-97 minutes instead of ours.

He needs time. I hope biss is fit because I th No Benta needs to be an option of the bench for a couple of months.

Looking forward to seeing Bentancur in August, after a summer holiday and a pre-season. Doesn't mean he can't contribute until then, as he's an incredible footballer - but I think that's when we will see him fully up to speed

He doesn't look like his old self yet. We really need one of Bentancur or Bissouma back in form for the remaining games to have a complete midfield.

I'm not sure if Ange would play Sarr Bentancur and Maddison anyway so I guess we just need Bissouma back

He looked good from his initial injury til Cash did him over and 2nd time around he's not quite been the same. There's been flashes but not quite there. I'm sure he rushed back to help out knowing our midfield situation with Sarr, Biss and Madders out so hopefully Bissouma comes back and finds his early season form and Bentancur can get himself back to his best without any pressure of needing to start every game.

Can't wait til he gets back to his top for levels. And also fuck you Matty Cash.

With Biss and Sarr back, Bents can take his time with his fitness and sharpness. He's GOT to play at the moment and with those 2 players back, the pressure will be off him a bit

It worked pretty well he first came in.

Agreed. Looked like a minor miracle occurred and he'd return pretty much at his previous levels off the bat and then he promptly got another nasty injury almost immediately. He worked so hard to get back. Must be mentally exhausting if nothing else. Let him ease back in, get a good rest/recharge and a full preseason again and he'll be on top form once more I've no doubt.

Yeah. He needs time.

Maddison needs time. Bissouma has had malaria and needs time. Son will be tired and needs time. Johnson is young and needs time. Udogie is young and needs time.

It feels like we (almost - maybe one or two first team players short) have the ingredients for a genuinely brilliant team, but we're just a little way off them really working together as a cohesive unit

A case of so near yet so far. At least there's something to look forward again.

Agree. We’re very early in this cycle with a number of young players still adapting to the league and a number of players still adapting to the system and playing together.

None of Vicario, van de Ven or Udogie have been played Premier League football before. Porro and Sarr’s Premier League experience was also extremely limited before this season.

Then you have players like Bissouma and Richarlison who were not really a part of the first team last year and Bentancur who missed half a season through injury. Werner, Johnson, Maddison are new to the team.

It’s actually quite amazing that we looked so cohesive during the first part of the season, given this was essentially a whole group who had never really played together before!

It’s a pity Bentancur seems to be struggling now but it’s not surprising. It’s asking a lot, not only for the injured players to come back as soon as possible but also immediately show the kind of form we were seeing from the team earlier in the season. I think it’s going to take time, but hopefully over the next few weeks a number of key players like Bentancur, Maddison, Bissouma etc will really start to getting up to speed again.

I think bentacur will play far better with biss holding
I think he will be fine with Sarr as well. Hojbjerg is just not a great partner for him but he's been so good to make it work. When he's not 100% he needs better quality around him. Hojbjerg is just too chaotic. I would not be surprised to see him looking far better if he partners Sarr on Saturday. He also looked good with GLC as well. Just needs better ball playing midfielders around him.

He’s fine. Just really rusty. And he probably has a little psychological barrier to break through, following the Matty Bash ‘sweep the leg, Jonny’ tackle. Weirdly, I think that did more harm to his psyche than his long term injury, as he looks tentative. Got a touch of the ‘Sessegnon’s’ going on. Which will pass as he gets match sharp and 100% trusts his body… and when he watches Cuti kick Cash so hard he goes bankrupt.

(I’ll grab my coat! 🤪)
