Like I mentioned in the match thread, I don’t think Dragusin played that badly at all. I think what was more evident is that there was zero understanding between him and Udogie on who’s responsibility was who’s, both in terms of areas of the pitch and marking.
Dragusin looked like a player on the wrong side (left instead of right), who was not used to exactly where the inverted full back beside him was meant to be. It will take time. Whereas VDV had the luxury of being able to recover any missteps due to his blistering pace, Dragusin like 99% of the league doesn’t have the pace to bail himself out while learning the system on the job.
