Kyle Walker-Peters went to Southampton too as part of the deal IIRC.
They paid us for kwp. Was basically a swap. They gave 12m for kwp and we gave 15m for hojbjerg. (Figures estimated cos I can't be bothered to look at the exact figures)

Its a shame we couldnt do similar now, give them PEH for £12milion and we buy KWP for £15million

KWP not good enough for us.

PEH linked with a loan to Newcastle in the Mail today, probs BS but you never know, they certainly need a CM with their situ in that position.

If we do move PEH on this window I’d be interested to know who we replace him with as o just can’t see Gallagher happening for so many reasons.

He was very good again yesterday. Anyone can see he is a great professional.
I’m still not sure he suits our style of play though and he always looks better when he plays alongside bentancur. He’s like a supporting actor in movies who never comes across the same as the leading man as soon as bentancur went off hojbjerg had a mad 10 minutes gave the ball away in our own box about 3 times.

He was decent but still nowhere near good enough let's be honest. He also gifted two great opportunities to City in the second half which really should have resulted in at least one goal.

He is a good player but just isn't suited to how we play.

Last night summed him up in many ways. He was excellent for a long time and then in the space of a few mins gave away a couple of chances. He then did something he never does which is hide. Was really disappointed

Perhaps because he was always the one covering his defence all across the park while also making himself available for the ball when going forward. He was magnificent last night and any club watching that would have recognised it. It would be nice if it made a few of them willing to stump up the readies.
I know it doesn't fit the narrative but I think we'd have conceded earlier without him on the park given our current situation.

It was a weird one from him yesterday, for me.
He started off with all the things he gets criticism for, playing safe, playing the way he's facing and not seeing the forward passes that were available.
Then something seemed to click and he was really good for a bit, playing some great passes along the way.
Then, I don't know if he got tired but he reverted to being sloppy, hiding and pointing.

It was a weird game for me because I went from FFS, to wow, to FFS over the course of it.
He showed the best of himself and the worst of himself.

No he was everywhere last night and that was the general consensus around me too, we'd have gone down sooner and more often without him on the park. Credit where it's due.
Completely agree with this, he was the best of the midfielders yesterday and trust me I'm really not a huge fan of his. Fans judgement will be clouded by two moments of madness from him towards the end of the day but if you look at the game holistically then he was very solid.

I think he’s just a victim of our football.
In the right team he’d be a very good player, but in a team passing out from the back, where you need the quick one touch passing, he just doesn’t have the skillset

doesn’t mean he isn’t a good footballer, just isn’t fit for our tactics anymore

I definitely respect his efforts. You can tell he's not suited to our system, yet he's really tried to adapt his game. He's clearly trying to be a lot more progressive than what he's used to, and for the most part he did that really well yesterday.

I think him not being fully comfortable in the way we play is probably why we're often seeing at least one hospital pass per game from him.

I don't think he started well, he kept playing it back where it came from and missed at least two great opportunities to play a progressive pass out to the wide right, which would have set us on the attack.
Then something clicked and he was great for the majority of the game, playing some sublime forward passes and making me eat my words of the first 10 minutes or so.

I think then maybe tiredness crept in towards the end because he did become sloppy and there was one occasion that he walked behind a City player and pointed, instead of offering an outlet for a pass out from the back.

Overall, he had a very good game but his performance was somewhat tarnished by the first and last 10 minutes or so.

very good but lack of concentration could easily have cost us two goals interesting assessment... add to this he got by passed easily in midfield (not the only one).. We need someone more composed and mobile in that deeper position.

The bar is extremely low for hojbjerg. Who felt confident when he received the ball on the edge of our box?

He did some stuff good but he's part of the reason we were glued to our penalty box. He stands in line with our defenders and doesn't effect the play around the box.

For balance when not under pressure he played some good passes and made some good blocks. We need to get rid though we're worse when he's on the pitch

.i thought he played well, was tired at 75 minutes like Bentancur after a big shift but no options to bring him off. That’s when he made mistakes

Hojbjerg was definitely up there with our best performing players last night. It’s just completely agenda driven to say otherwise. Yes he doesn’t fit our style, and needs a move, but ffs it doesn’t hurt to give the guy some praise.
