It's worth remembering he only has 18 months left on his contract this January will be the final chance to get decent money for him. Come the Summer that will reduce again and even more so if he has hardly played.
Not asking for ITK but do you think anyone he would consider going to will pay decent money for him in January?
Given I can’t see levy signing off on buying anyone unless he is sold first he’ll get minutes with the injuries and AFCON coming up so unless someone like Atletico actually stump up I don’t see him going anywhere

I personally think he will go in January if everything lines up, so yes.

Given him and Skipp are basically the only available midfielders we have for 5 weeks across Jan and Feb, the chances of us selling him in January must be no higher than zero.
you mean the 5 weeks over which we have a total of 2/3 league matches?
Think we'll be ok.......

I hope you’re right, but that’s a pretty big if in your sentence for me since it relies on 1) someone paying an acceptable price for him 2) him wanting to go there and 3) us agreeing a deal for a replacement I won’t hold my breath. Surely even levy wouldn’t so a Sanchez and sell him without getting a replacement in with Bentancur and Maddison out and Bissouma and Sarr at AFCON

Are we not at our limit for registered players? I thought we sold Sanchez because Lloris didn't leave and we couldn't shift Hojbjerg on deadline day. So we would need to at least shift Lloris to bring another in. If we get an offer for Hojbjerg it could make sense if we get another in that position but we need to prioritise centre back.

I actually think midfield is one area we can afford to lose a player and not replace. Skipp can cover for those few AFCON games but we need to get money in and create squad space for summer. We may have some short term pain but this is a long term rebuild which is always hampered by us not being able to shift squad fillers in new windows.

We will see I guess posted about it weeks ago but there have been conversations with other clubs regarding PEH, and he is not in Ange's long term thinking.

We can't sell him, not in January, with Bissouma, Sarr (African nations) and Bentancur (injured), we don't have the players.

He's been involved in almost all of our games, starting 2 in the league and playing 45m+ on 4 occasions. He's also came on numerous times to close out games. For me he's played well the majority of times and is our number one sub.

He may not be happy and would be a first team regular for a lot of teams, but if we sell him in Jan we will be left light in that midfield. The moment it was confirmed that Bentancur was out (again) the decison is surely 'keep'.

In my eyes he's a vital player while we adapt to our new playing style. A professional and someone who while not 100% suited to our play, is certainly a useful asset.

Also, and this is vitally important, he is almost always fit and dependable, an underrated quality in a footballer. He deserves much more respect.

Guess it depends on Bentancur/Maddison outlook. Worst case is we sell PEH, still have those two out and lose Bissouma and Sarr for a decent period, which would leave us down to Skipp/GLC/Kulu with absolutely no senior cover.

Bissouma and Sarr can miss 5 games if their countries do well. Bentancur and Maddison aren't back til February, at least. That leaves us with PEH, Skipp and Kulusevski. Therefore we'd have to sign at least one but realistically two midfielders before we could let PEH go. Personally, I don't see that happening

Senegal will be there or there abouts but last time i checked Mali were awful.....so id be very surprised if Bissouma isnt back for the Everton game.

We can’t sell him at the beginning of January however, I see no reason not to sell at the end of January if the strategy is to sell him.

We have FA cup game the 6th and face United on the 14th. Any transfer is likely to happen after those as there's a little break until the next game 27th.

He has evolved as a player continuously throughout his career, used to be much less disciplined. Even though I agree there is a chaotic element in his play, he is quite reliable now trying to play the roles different coaches want him too as best he can. We know that he trains hard and is very eager to learn and I don’t see any sign of him disliking Ange. So, while I agree that he will most likely leave next summer, I wouldn’t rule out entirely the possibility that he improves enough to become a contender for the starting XI.
