Just look at Gomes, ability wise he was a fantastic keeper, but he lacked the mental edge that the top keepers have.
Friedal, in comparison, although not as talented as Gomes, was a more solid keeper because he had a much stronger mentality.
I reckon Gomes was the most naturally talented goalie we’ve had at Spurs since I’ve supported us in 87. I’ve never seen other goalies make some of the ridiculous saves he made. Just a shame he had those mad moments like you say.
