This Equipe article says Lyon are only paying half his salary.

All that is missing now is the agreement of the ex-PSG player, in dire lack of playing time at the Spurs, for the operation to succeed. OL will pay half of Lo Celso's salary (500,000 euros per month) and will not have a purchase option.

Or that he wants a permanent fixture in there. There are so many good players out of contract in the Summer, we may already have plans for that role long term.

Indeed, I just don't get it when people assume we should hijack another players transfer, he might be better than what we have but not what Conte wants, not wishing to preach to the choir there Trix.
FWIW I think the loan moves are the most sensible option this window.

Yeah but I believe it's only possible to do two on loan due to quota's. So the third would need to be an outright purchase. Have to be sure that one is long term.

Think they may look to sign Romero permanently now? Then they free up a loan space?

Not 100% how it works. We've had this discussion this afternoon and it's still not totally clear. I think it maybe a maximum of 4 a season, so that wouldn't help us. If it's 4 at any one time then sure that could be a solution.

Ah ok, big decisions to be made then.
I'd just like to see something different on the right side tbh, it's so stale and repetitive, bit frustrating we didn't pursue Tomiyasu in the summer but I'm not sure he fits Conte's system either, apart from RCB in a 3.

i think the quota only applies to loans from clubs in england, so as many as you like from foreign clubs, at least that's how the rules read to me (highlighted in bold the bit im on about)

Under the rules in the Premier League Handbook 2021/22 (Download PDF, size: 21.5MB), there are restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/English clubs.

They are:
- Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.
- The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.
- Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window.
- A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club.

With the exception of Welsh clubs competing in the competitions listed under Rule V.6.2, loans from a club in membership of another National Association do not count towards the above quotas.

this is from here

Better for him to play and re-build value, than not play at Spurs.

Yeah true. Will he fancy going to Lyon though. They’re midtable in France. Villarreal would probably appeal though I could see him there with Aurier & Foyth.

Getting anyone in will probably be better than him being here.

Do hope this one happens. Very poor decision to make this permanent ( not sure if we had option or obligation )

Did you say this at the time? He was looking very promising when we made it permanent.
Just hasn’t kicked on, and perma-injured.
