He was not very precise yesterday, but every time he has the ball you know that something good is going to try, he is always close to all the dangerous plays. You need to play number 6, you have a bigger picture to start the play, number 10 has little space and it is likely that you can miss a few attempts.

Anyone else feel like the pitch was slow yesterday? Not sure if GLC was putting enough pace on his passes for some through balls but they didn't seem to zip on the service like they usually do. Maybe it was me but it didn't seem to be watered to what we usually do.
I thought that. Lo Celso is a good player no doubt. But.... lets see the assists / goals column at the end of the season. I think we need a bit more from him (maybe with Ndombele we will get it).

Depends what player you want him to be, looks to me like he could turn out to be a schemer like Modric/Thiago.

I said this in another thread the other day, but Lo Celso is very often the player making the pass before the assist. Three 'hockey assists' already this season, and two times he's set up a shot that got parried out to the goalscorer.

Having a fit Bale (still not used to writing that), Kane and Son, will definitely lead to more assists and goals for GLC. The obvious factor is that he'll have 3 quality attackers to find with his precise passing and as teams focus on trying to contain those three, GLC will be afforded extra space in the attacking third to shoot.

I don't think we need to necessarily pick Lo Celso or Ndombele to play further forward, I think the two could rotate between CM and AM. Ndombele has great penetrative passing from deep, while Lo Celso is better defensively, and they both offer something different in forward areas too.

Why not have both?

I think GLC and Ndombele can alternate on the pitch with one going forward when appropriate and the other one staying alongside Hojbjerg.

That's certainly what I hope we do after the next international break when they're hopefully both fully fit and fully match fit for the first time in their Spurs careers.

Asbolutely. And while on paper this might look a bit attacking, I actually think it's more defensively sound than having Winks in the side. Lo Celso is much better defensively that Winks while Ndombele helps us to keep the ball and beat the opposition press which in turn takes a lot of the pressure off us in our own half.

I hope they will play together soon, I think we will see a very classy football. Ndombele can be number 10 and Lo Celso number 8, we saw his best version when he played with Winks further back and Alli as 10.

I have no doubt they will play together soon. As others have mentioned they have both struggled a bit to get back to match fitness. Ndombele seems to basically be there by now while Lo Celso will be soon.

Lo Celso has probably played his best football for us in a deeper role. Personally I hope we go more traditional mid 3 with 8 - 6 - 8 instead of 6 - 10 - 6. Seems to me that both Lo Celso and Ndombele are better suited to play as an 8 than a 6 or 10.

Defensively it doesn't worry me much really. It's not like Ndombele had 2 DMs behind him at Lyon at all times (when I watched them he played more as a 6 than anything else with one more pure DM next to him). I think even Ndombele - Winks - Lo Celso works when they are all fit.

Very happy for him! Key player for the team. I hope to see him on Sunday with Ndombele at Old Trafford.

He better not be injured.

Wand of a left foot this kid, easily my fave current spurs player, great job the scouting team to sign him, excellent player.

Sure I saw him saying something to one of our staff when he came off at ht, tight muscle or something maybe.

We should be building our midfield around this lad, he is without a doubt one of the best midfielders in the league.
A player with his stamina, defensive and creative ability, goal and sacrifice clearly deserves more recognition.
If we want to compete for the BIG 4 we need Kane, Son and Lo Celso at the highest level and physical form
