Occam's razor would likely lead to the manager saying where a player wants and doesn't want to play being more reliable than a BT Sports interview as a marquee signing, before he's even trained, though. I doubt it'd make the edit if he said "To be honest, I'm only really keen to play as a right winger as I don't like other positions".

It feels like people are stretching to scapegoat Jose, when there's not much to suggest that Bale is even that bothered about playing any more.

I'm not scapegoating Jose here, I didn't think your point was referencing him at all as you brought up 'insider information', which I take to mean ITK, as I'm presuming the other argument you refer to in your post is the back and forth you've been having regarding what Poch says in his book about Sissoko. Maybe I'm reading into things and that's not what you meant, but it suggests being rather 'flexible' with logic and sources as it suits.

Anyway, it's not a big argument but I'd also say Jose is more than intelligent enough to play the media in the way he wants, he's almost certainly cleverer than any football PR person.

The main difference is that I am using conflicting information to highlight a discrepancy - the counter-argument is trying to assert a truth despite the conflicting information.

For clarity, here's a summary:

"We should be playing Bale as a number 10"
"Jose said that Bale doesn't want to play as a number 10" (somehow funny)
"I don't believe that"
"Here's the quote of Jose saying that"
"I still don't believe that. Here's a Bale quote that I believe instead"
"Occam's Razor" (somehow funny)

Occam's Razor is, of course, the conclusion with the least assumptions. Bale isn't playing anywhere but RW because Jose believes, apparently, that he doesn't want to.

Any ITK and reports we've had on the matter of Bale, all seem to suggest he's not got a "I just want to play" mindset. Recently there's suggestions that he hasn't been even bothered in training, then we've recently had an accidental leak from a training video of Jose apparently telling someone to go back to Madrid, then the whole thing where he's spending more time with either minor or non-existent injuries instead of training, and the performances we've generally had from him.

Gareth's a big boy, and a very big player, with an agent that has a big mouth, so I believe that the conspiracy that Jose doesn't want to play him in roles which he may well be better suited to, and that Barnett/Bale aren't happy to sit on the bench like he did at Real, plus all the stuff that was said before he joined us to all add together to a far less plausible conclusion with not only more assumption, but a lot of contradiction.

I can see how someone might think that it is selective or contradictory logical, but it's reasonably simple with me - I tend to go with the most pragmatic answer.

I don't even know what the counter is supposed to be to what I've said - that Jose is a liar who somehow is refusing to play Bale? There's not a lot of clarity of sense. Spurs Bear seems to think that Bale actually wants to play as number 10 and Jose is lying, or something. That's why is comes across as stick to beat Jose with, rather than an actual constructive point.

At least tag me fella, do you make stuff up for a living? Like a Recruitment Consultant or something? It's just a whole host of jumbled together garbage.

Maybe I’m clutching at straws or just delusionally optimistic but I believe that the real possibility of him having to go back to Madrid will motivate him to perform and take more risks with his body. With Trix stating that Gaz and Mourinho have spoken and ironed things out, I’m still hoping he can turn it around and help us climb the table in the second half and turn up in the CC Final. My window optimism is closing but hopefully beginning tonight he can go on a run.

Anyone taking Jose's word as gospel is a little naive.

Anyway, hope he plays tonight and scores one from about 30yrds to really give him a confidence boost - we certainly need more goal threat than we are curently getting from Lamela/Moura/Bergwijn.

Huge game for Bale tonight!

We put all our eggs in the Bale basket this season bringing him back and the lift it gave the supporters and squad lifted us to the top of the league imo

Unfortunately ever since he actually started playing our form and the general atmosphere around the club has gone downhill rapidly

Would be a huge lift to everyone if he had a great game tonight and scored a couple of goals and/or created a few...

Lets not start patting Bale on the back just yet. This a pub team we're beating. Yes he's playing well and it was a great goal but lets see if he plays at the weekend and offers whats required.
Jury still out for me.

If he bags another 10 total G&A for the remaining part of the season and keeps putting in good performances, I don't see why we wouldn't renew the loan for another season.

Yeah, needs to keep this up and chip with more goals and assists. Don't think he'll feature against West Ham but today and next Wednesday are fixtures where he needs to show that he can help the team.
