Very much on board with signing. Spence has the attributes to be a real success for us.

Do you watch him often? I only saw the Arsenal game where he was decent but almost everyone who knows about him raises doubts about how good he is and/or his attitude. I usually hate to form an opinion based on other people's opinions but there doesn't seem to be too many clamouring for us to get this guy

I've never seen Spence play but its certainly questionable. Why would Middlesborough loan him to another team in the Championship that isn't of a vastly different place in the table.

He has 1 goal/2 assists this season & 1 goal/0 assists last season.

We need someone who can come in and take the place of Emerson no doubt. I don't see how he would be it.

Yeah, I’d be fine if we sold Doherty and Emerson and had Spence come in as the backup to a legitimate RWB starter-type signing. But, other than that, can’t really see the point as it stands.

I was surprised we didn’t move for him this window. He hasn’t been playing for Lazio that much

Only seen him play 3 times, first against us in the cup for Boro a few seasons ago when he looked good, second against Arse a few weeks ago when he was probably MOM & lastly against Derby at the weekend when he was pretty Meh, misplaced quite a few passes & lost possession a few times as well.
He does look as if he’s got a turn of speed & likes his stepovers when going forward but can only remember him getting behind once & his resulting cross was ok, but was put out for a corner.
Before Sunday I was all for him but after Sunday & all the negative comments from Boro fans I’m not so sure.
