Yep best he’s played for a while especially in the n.o 8 role.

As a rule, I don't like to criticise our players but, fuck me, Kulu was so thick today, and his performance so wooden, that I'm half tempted to plane him down and have Ikea sell him as an occasional table. Would at least offer something in that role.

That’s, what, three… four fouls he’s needlessly made leading to goals?

He does this thing when a player gets past him where he sticks his arm out in a half-attempt to pull at them, but doesn't quite do it because he know he'll get penalised. It's like an "I'll try and make people think I give a shit" kind of move which I'd do in a fat guys 6-a-side match. He did it about 12 times today and it wound me up no end.

Sadly he isn't good enough. Plays well once every five games or so. Isn't the first player to hit the ground running and then goes back to his true level.

He’s not a playmaker. He can play a nice pass in and around the area but there is so much more to being a 10 than that. He will never be a creative fulcrum in this team.

He isn’t a winger ether mind. Imo he should be used as an attacking 8 alongside a 10. I personally think he could be very effective there but we would need a solid DM covering for a more aggressive CM 2.

Think this is the overriding feeling I have with him. He is a good player capable of having good games but can't get away from knowing deep down he isn't a natural fit for the system and more often than Ange is having to shoehorn him into the team. With that mind, just don't think he is someone you can consistently turn to perform at the highest level every week.

He’s had a few patches here and there but I’m not sure he ever really refound his first season form tbh.

What’s for sure is he isn’t a winger or a 10 in this system so if we keep him Ange needs to figure out a way to get him working. As I said above I feel like that is as an advanced 8 alongside a 10 but it might not work.

I don’t think it’s even about being good enough or not, I think it’s more the roles he’s being asked to play don’t naturally suit him. That’s not on him, it’s just an awkward fit. If we keep him Ange needs to find a role that suits him. If he keeps forcing him into a position that he doesn’t comfortably fit then I don’t see him improving.

Perhaps but I don’t really see a role that does suit him mate. I just don’t think he’s that good and never really have bar his first 10 games under conte, since then he’s looked very poor very often.

I gave him benefit of the doubt as he’s young but that excuse can only go on so long.

I really, really like Dejan. Comes across as a great guy.

But I am not sure he’s good enough for where we want to be. Doesn’t have the pace to be a winger in this system, or the guile/creativity to play centrally and impact the game. If a suitable offer comes in this summer, and I’m not sure it does, then I’d sell.
