Top lad. I know there are plenty of folk on here who believe the same, but I just think he's going to get better and better.

Hope people read it and remember they're not machines who just run around for a football match once or twice a week. They're human beings who go through things like the rest of us. Some leave home at a very young age to pursue their career, in some cases to an entirely different country and culture.

Never going to happen, unfortunately.

We see it all the time on this forum. Fans relentlessly tearing into players if they don't perform within the first few months of joining. I mean, in the case of some players they actually get booed by our own fans at our stadium. It's just where we are as a society right now.

Yeah I saw Emerson's quote re the boos.

When I said people I meant in general and not just this forum, because you're right it is a society issue. But it's not even just footballers, it's any athlete, musician or celebrity. Oh they have millions and are famous so they must be perfectly happy and healthy when in many cases we just don't know what goes on behind closed doors. That is a completely separate discussion for its own thread though so I will leave it there.

That's surprisingly inspirational - will show that to my sons
Was just thinking the same. Both are aspiring footballers. What a read!
I just sent it to my youngest lad, the eldest isn't into footie at all sadly.
I'm going to wait til my eldest is 11 I think.

As well as loving every other word, one thing that stood out for me as a dad of young children is when he said there's lots of young dads at the club and they spend a lot of time talking about parenthood. And in the next sentence Ange is mentioned once again as a father figure (El abuelo Ange!) . I think that really sounds like a tight-knit family group that is going to grow together as people, not just footballers.

The future is bright, the future is Lilywhite!

Brilliant article.

That January window signing Kulusevski and Bentancur was the start of something special. For the first time in a while we had players who would not only bust a gut but be brave.

No hiding, no passing on responsibility, just hard work and bravery. Almost every player Paratici has brought to the club encapsulates this mentality.

Ange is now a big part of spreading this mentality and its telling when you have players like Dier who clearly wasn't favoured waxing lyrical about him.

Back to Kulusevski, when he's on the pitch he always presses, always runs and tracks back, I've lost count of how many goals have come from Kulusevski winning the ball and escaping the press to create a chance.

What's better is Johnsons performance against Villa, which was copying the off the ball work of Kulusevski.

We are still not there yet, but it's coming. So much potential in our team right now.

We need to accelerate his transition into an 8 full time. I think Kulu is an excellent player but we're not getting the best out of him as a winger in Ange's system.

He was a huge deficiency for us in executing our style of play today..

Haven’t seen anything that suggests he’d be a top quality 8. I’d play GLC at 8 ahead of him every time. Agree he was a big disappointment today offering close to nothing.
