What happens before that? We're 2 vs the striker at the back should be no danger, he loses out on a ball he should be dealing with every day of the week, gets completely bullied and then left wrong side by 5ft midget Bowen and allows him to get the ball down, turn and pick a pass into the final third that ultimately ends in a goal, fortunate deflection(s) or not.

If that was a Dier, Davies, Emerson, et al doing that Spurs social media/forums are going in two-footed on them.

The second I'm more disappointed with tbh. He barely moves, throughout phase 1, 2, or 3 of what happens. Quite likely he wouldn't have been able to get on it, maybe just maybe though by phase 3 when the ball comes back off the post he's in a position to pinch it before JWP, or pressures him so much he puts him off, or whatever. If you don't fucking try and run back though then you'll never know. When other players/whipping boys have done that it gets clipped up, or pictorial evidence all over social media, double quick.

As I said, I just found it interesting (ie. complete double standards). All I've seen last night and this morning is muted default "great to have him back", "good game" sentiments and all that. Well to channel my inner Roy Keane... this is a senior player who was disappointing on two goals, if that's good then... well. Plenty of comments post-game bemoaning some of the usual lot (Davies, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Richarlison, etc) and how we'll never win games playing them, if we want top standards and results how about one of your stars/captains just not doing enough on two goals and calling that out.
Because it’s completely over the top. We have 5 defenders against 3 attackers one who’s jwp we were in complete control on the situation. The situation with Bowen before he has so much space to run into and cuts inside which for a fast strong player like Bowen is easy to happen but we were in control . See the pic I’m sorry but you are completely over the top in that. We looked way better with Romero it’s simple fact

probably should have done better on that Bowen first challenge but virtually every other situation like that he was aggressive and came out on top. His general all round game was good as well.

I’m guessing It’s about the quantity of good work, contrasted with complete passivity why he doesn’t get as much criticism as Dier/Davies for example.

Easy to identify when someone makes an error but it's much harder to quantify how someone prevents moves from happening because they stamp it out early. He does that so much. And his willingness and ability to play attacking passes is awesome. He might be our most attacking player.

Close to another straight red just then, HAS to tone it down/cut that out!

If he’d been out for another 3-4 games that would’ve been such a huge blow for us.

Close to being done with this guy. That tackle was brain dead and he was very lucky not to be sent off. That would have really left us in the lurch again.

It’s only a matter of time before he lets us all down again.

He is what he is. We need 3 starting calibre CBs. With Romero and the way he plays, they'll all get enough game time over a season.

Im hopeful Ange can coach the rashness out of him. I personally love the guy.

It should have been a red card. There's nothing wrong with playing tough and tackle hard, but this is something else. I expect much more from a vice captain. I'm really disappointed in him.

Why does he always do it? He's become a parody of himself now. I don't know if he genuinely wants to see how far he can push it or genuinely does brain farts. He was lucky to stay on the pitch

He’s a great player, and when he’s at it he’s a joy to watch.

But we can’t afford to have someone like him constantly on the sidelines through suspension. Our recent run of bad form is arguably on his shoulders; as well as the injuries to Van De Ven and Maddison.

He actually slipped which is why his left follows through on the opponent. It happened to many in the 2 d half today. It happens to Romero and the knives come out

Should have been a red, if he got himself sent off when we're 4 nil up that would be near unforgivable. He's a lucky boy.
