So who’s the ideal partner for him?

Romero's a dog isn't he?
So we need to find a cat to partner him...

It’s not done yet then. I am waiting for the official announcement before getting too excited.
Every Christmas my brother and I were allowed to open one small present on Christmas Eve from under the tree in order to try and keep us calm and entertained before going to bed and excitedly waiting for Santa to arrive.
Think of Fabrizio Romano as giving you such a present (y)

So who’s the ideal partner for him?
Jules Kounde.

I think the ideal partner is a pretty fast player who can cover a lot of ground because Romero is likely to step towards attackers so you need someone that can fall in behind and cover him.

Jesus christ. I've been banned from twitter for being very honest and I haven't missed it. Look at the state of the replies to that.

When you have some form of community, twitter replies are enriching and hilarious, and a large part of why the Twitter 'experience' is so good. And then you get to football on Twitter. Every post is followed by "announce so and so", "joke club", "ratio.", something about Penaldo, or something involving nonce. Any half decent reply gets drowned out. Surprised they haven't done something to eradicate the cesspit that it's become. Don't bother reading replies anymore.

Anyway, ANNOUNCE VLAHOVIC

Romero is our Vidic, someone like Lacroix or Kounde can be Ferdinand! Super excited about this! Most exciting signing for a long time!

Is Kounde that player? I’ve heard Pau Torres mentioned by people too.

Re: Kounde - think so (if we can get him). Bit out of my depth with the advanced stats, but all the red bars on his scouting report chart are things Romero appears to excel at (99th percentile in half of them). Pau Torres seems to tick the same boxes - good shout.

Seriously other than Tomiyasu, who else do we bid? Everything else seems like false rumors. Zouma? Milenkovic? Or we will be waiting for Sanchez sale first and focus on Kane’s replacement now?

Er, how did you have presents under the tree if you were still awaiting santa?...I think you may be living in fantasy land. Nobody gets presents until santa has delivered them.

Romero wore number 17 for Atalanta and 13 for Argentina. Any of them available?

Btw yes, he can play 4-3-3 just fine (not necessarily 3-4-3). In Argentina it was 4-3-3 and he got 3 clean sheets in 3 matches.
We had no 13 last year and if Sissoko goes then there would be number 17, too. He could choose.

Surely Koundé if it can be done. If not, I'm hoping we go back for Lacroix who we were linked to a while back.

When did MVP become a thing? Is it another american statistics based baseball bollocks, or is it something from kids video games?

Half right on the former - definitely American. MVP discussions are the source of at least half of all traditionalist vs. stathead debates over here, so pretty much the same lines of argument as you'd expect.

The Romero negotiations were pivotal in deciding which direction Fabio and Nuno would then go in assembling the rest of the squad. Now that's finally settled Paratici will allow the media confusing fog that he purposely created to clear a little. Then over the next couple of days I fully expect we should have a much clearer idea concerning who the other remaining targets really are.

Crikey, he likes a yellow card does our Cristian. That's getting on for one every couple of games!

They were the ones kept back and hidden by our parents from the previous Christmas. Surely you remember that ??? ;)

Yup - plus Kounde has a fantastic passing range.

Romero looks a decent passer, but not one to make long raking diagonals like Toby. Would be great to partner him with someone who can give us that option, especially since none of our other remaining CBs are brilliant long range passers either (except Dier every 10th attempt).
